Could you share a bit more about your profile? And what you think worked most in your favor?
I have a 690 with 6-7 years of work ex, but I'm preparing to retake the GMAT, because I feel like it's not enough for INSEAD, or Cambridge along with my profile. Hence, curious to know more about what might have worked for you. Also, which one you're planning to finally pick and why?

There are a lot of moving parts in your request so let me try to address them to the best of my understanding:
- After 13 years of work experience, I would recommend targeting an Executive MBA rather than part time MBA format since the class profile and their end objectives will be more in line with what you are targeting. Most EMBA candidates are aiming for C suite positions / career advancement in their respective companies or largely their industry
- Location will play a crucial role in your decision, do you intend to stay in Canada in the long term or have the aspiration of being in the United States in the near future. Do keep in mind that the large tech openings are still based out of the US, while Canada has shown tremendous promise, most senior positions for large tech companies will still be concentrated in the West Coast (some maybe even on the East Coast)
- EMBAs will give you the option of continuing in your current role while also pursuing your education at the same time, the various formats for EMBAs vary from school to school as some will need you to attend alternate weekends while some may need lesser on campus presence. Do check the respective schools for the various formats they offer
-With a 730 you can target some of the top tier EMBA programs, also do have a word with your employer if they will be willing to sponsor a portion of the tuition as we have seen employers offer financial assistance after you convince them of the benefits of the program
- Rotman maybe a good Canadian option, however if you are based in Toronto you can also consider some of the good NY programs out of Columbia, Stern since they will be about an hour by flight from Toronto and hence not a massive logistic nightmare
- For good tech positions, would recommend exploring some West Coast programs at Haas, Anderson as they will open doors to some good Silicon Valley employers
- Lastly, you will be entering the class in Fall'23 and graduating by Summer'25, the job market and macroeconomic conditions would have changed substantially by then.

I agree an EMBA would probably be better in terms of structure, schedule, and class profile. Is that the degree you were considering to start?

I agree to your suggestion to some extent. EMBA's are expensive and not all require GMAT. I'm not sure if my employer agree for sponsorship at current economic scenario. With a decent GMAT score, I'm exploring some sort of scholarship to take less financial burden.

Will need additional information to make a better assessment of your fit to the above mentioned programs. However, from the limited info that you have provided retail banking tends to be overrepresented and hence you will need strong academics and test scores to convince the adcom. Further, you can explore some other East Coast B schools since they will position you quite well for a full time career in Investment Banking. Ghana is an underrepresented country across most schools and hence that will definitely work for your case.

Sorry, IIM's and Indian programs are not my strength 😥 but I think your goals make sense. I would encourage you to poke around the LinkedIN and recruiting job portals on the consulting companies to see what they have in the data science and your qualifications in terms of hiring and what do they require. I think MBA is going to be helpful either way but you may find opportunities do not really extend to MBA's or perhaps the other way around. Hoping we can get some consultants with IIM experience to comment further.

Thats some relevant experience and skillsets that you have developed in your current consulting gig. Having worked with most top tier consulting firms in the capacity of their client, I can rest assure you that almost all of them are beefing up their data science and digital capabilities given they are becoming more crucial for clients particularly to make data backed decisions. Consulting firms off late are recruiting talent with those skillsets and thus you maybe a very good fit for this new mandate of theirs.
Coming to your profile, you have a decent GPA, very relevant work ex, some unique skillsets and exposure to dynamics industries due to which your profile will be pretty competitive for the list of schools that you have shortlisted. Would stress on giving the GMAT a good attempt and cracking the 720 level to have a good chance at the above mentioned. Since your profile is very brief, would encourage you to evaluate your leadership and management experience thus far as they will be critical for any mid career MBA program.

INSEAD is a solid program. Mostly focused on placing into consulting but other industries are also abound…

One last comment - you are on the more experienced side and that means your recruiting will have to be done on your own. I assume you are OK with that but just bringing it up…. Could also see LBS and Judge as other options for Europe. Obviously a ton of programs in the US including Sloan Fellows and Stanford MSx.
