Hey Guys

I am applying to LBS and some US/European colleges. Since we will be the batch getting in just at the time recession is predicted to happen next year. Does it deter anyone's hopes of job/summer internships. What are the implications on our batch. Would love to know what you guys think!

I contacted few B-schools and their answer was, it will in no way affect the job hunting of our students.

We have witnessed recession in the part, but our 3-month job statistics have never fluctuated bcz of recession.

Though, if you are a foreign passport holder, I advice you to excercise extreme caution and do not overburden yourself with loans.

Yes I agree. A few key points to note
1. Take as low student loans as possible
2. Be prepared with Plan b,c and d.
3. Visa issue is sorted from this year in London - since the new bill allows 2 years of staying back in UK. So little reduction in pressure in finding jobs. But as said Plan B,C and D have to be sorted.
4. Salary packages and employment positions may reduce- only time will tell the reality. MBA schools always want to paint a good picture, and hence their words need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Its their business.!

Rest depends on how fast the economy recovers back from recession. But yeah bear it out together with your cohort!

It is a quite interesting topic.

However, there might be the other side of the medal in the sense that you are able to "weather the storm" in the confines of your B-School.
Specifically for LBS the impending Brexit is likely a topic of more immediate impact.

There was an impact, albeit subtle through the recruiting process. I found that UK-based companies were inherently focusing on European passport holders as Brexit puts a big question mark as to what will happen to jobs within the UK. This is especially pronounced in the city of London. Companies want the flexibility in case they need to relocate talent to Europe, they can do so without uncertainty over visas and documentations. My two cents
