im wonderin how you guys overcome the repulse of continuing the test? Actually i finished my test 45 or 50 minutes is by choosing all the c's after 12th question. well, it proves the first 10 questions are important. my verbal was 33

i canceled the score though. it looked awkward, ir7, q50, v33, 690

i scored awful in IR but it alone kinda cracked me down. the reading was so intensive--presumably everyone knows it. because IRs are quite the same in the prep, i have yet to practice more. it's still quite out of scope though--7, how many mistakes i made? only 12 questions, ****, 7 out 12

then i really drudged through the math. it actually relieved me coz the reading was way less intensive. then the verbal part totally cracked me down. I just lost. really lost.

i did all the prep at home, the feeling was really different. i feel tired and ground but didn't get lost. my brain had worked but failed totally and miserably at the test center.

but i really couldn't go on. i doubt i would get a better a score even though i finished it. my mind was totally blank. my last experience of such extensive test happened over 15 years ago for SAT, but that was totally different.

i barely could speak even 30 minutes after the test and still a bit under the weather--literally, like i got 5 mojito and my heart still throbbed a bit. my apple reading was quite like 90. it's basically like me within few hours after the ny marathon. actually it felt worse, way worse than running the marathon. you may feel very tired, worn out, exhausted even sharp pain in the stomach, but you feel spirited, you feel libido

i reappoint a test in a month, please guys, help me boost up at the test rather than go down again!!!!!!!!!

I feel you bro. Some people get 720 and feel rejected. I think you should have a mojito right before the test to get a better score. It might work.

Hey mcwoodhill

When it comes to psychological aspects of the test and stress management - make sure you think extreme positivity and pay attention to this critical element of the test. We highly recommend that you read through the psychological tips that we put together for you on this blog post: https://www.gmatpill.com/about/studying- ... trategies/

In addition, with about a month to prep, here is a customized one month study plan that can help boost your score: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... study-plan

Use this as a guideline. You don’t have to follow it exactly but the structure of the study plan should be the same structure that you take in your approach. This helps to optimize your retention and learning.

As you study, we recommend that you focus on one particular subsection for multiple consecutive days before moving onto the next. You can see this in our study plan where we recommend 5 days on nothing but SC -- before moving onto CR and then RC.

Here is a sample SC video to help you start your journey: https://www.gmatpill.com/sentencecorrect ... ythons.mp4

Best of luck- we are here to help.

Is it a bad habit to study on the test day? I kinda studied from 8:30 till 03:00 then walked like 30 minutes over to Harold Square, grabbing a sandwich and espresso at the Starbucks

But I usually do that at college or even in the office when facing a deadline. I really habitually cram for the grade at college and it kinda worked. Will have some sugar instead of sandwich though this time before the test

Hi mcwoodhill,

First off, a 690/Q50 is a fantastic score (it's just shy of the 90th percentile overall), so you can/should apply to any Business School you choose with that score. By extension, a retest is likely unnecessary. IR is scored on a scale of 1-8, so an IR7 is actually a really strong performance in that section.

1) Do you know which Business Schools you plan to apply to?
2) Do you know when you plan to apply?

Hi mcwoodhill,

If you've already paid for a retest, then there's no harm in taking the GMAT again. If you have not already done so, then you will likely find it beneficial to schedule that Test EARLIER in the day. Most people do their best overall thinking in the first 4-5 hours of the day. From what you described about your last GMAT, you spent THAT time studying (which you shouldn't have done regardless - there was no benefit gained by that last minute 'cramming'), then you got a late lunch and then you took the Official GMAT. It would have been well into the evening by the time you hit the Verbal section, so you were probably far too tired to perform at a really high level by that point.

thanks to all, i retook the test and scored 770: q50, v45

i literally meditated on IR part--this time the test began at 08:00 and I was really sleepy that half hour. IR was horrible: 3, but this really saved a lot ENERGY for me.

Again, to get a good score, except for hard practice, energy distribution is of extreme importance
