Wear a black or navy suit (ironed).

Wear a white shirt (ironed).

Wear an unassuming tie.

Wear dark dress shoes.

It is always better to err on the safe side. Your biggest worry is to make sure you tick of all the boxes of being professionally presentable.

Remember, in addition to interviewing you for their program, they are also trying to make sure that you are hire-able after you graduate.

Obviously, this was biased towards men, but is equally applicable towards women. Wear what you would wear to a job interview with a top firm.

Hi,

I missed deadlines for both round 1 and round 2 for Foster,
I am an Indian girl from IT field with 3.9 years of total experience, including team leading and international experience of 1 years
My GMAT is 650 and GPA 3.3.

Can someone please suggest if i stand a chance by applying in round 3?
I also want to know how easy or tough it is to get a job and an H1 visa for international student there.. I have heard that Kelley helps in applying for H1 for international students, so I wanted to know how it will be on graduating from Foster.

Thanks in advance.

(Expect Kudos as Thanks for helpful replies.. :))

So did you guys all really do the long form resume? They say on the website "feel free to use up to three pages." They're definitely one of the very few schools that doesn't prefer or imply to keep it to one page. I've got mine at about one and a half after including some pre-graduation work history which they say they want. What are the averages out there for length? I don't want it to be too short but I'm not going to just dump extra stuff in either. I kind of prefer the way other schools keep the resumes to one page and let you include some other stuff in other sections of the application.

I asked a similar question for R1 and was told 11:59pm. May as well set your personal deadline at 5pm though if you can!

Yeah I'm in Europe so shouldn't be a problem either way as long as I get them in tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

Hi all,

Regarding your resume length: I had a "application advice session" with Meghan from Admissions here in NYC. She said that they prefer the long-form resume with your job history starting from college / undergraduate degree. She indicated that she likes to see if people worked during college and that it does help explain why some people may have had lower grades in undergrad.

I submitted my resume at about 1.75 pages including all job history from my Freshman year of college and up. For the earlier jobs, there was no bullet points describing responsibilities, but rather a short blurb about the position.

Thanks for the info! That's kind of what I was thinking. Having one bullet that is pretty worthless for non-career type job seems useless.

I fit everything onto one page. I just put all my best points on the resume, and left the expanding on some items for my essay.

Completed the interview on Thursday. Was with Andy Chen. Following were some of the questions

- Why now? ( Could be because i have more than 8 years of experience)
- What are the kinds of companies that i will target for internship
- What do i do if one of my team members was not pulling his weight
- Extra curricular activities
- How will i pitch for internship opportunities? What will i focus on in the app to them
- Any weakness in my application
- What have i done to learn about the programs? What resources have i used?
- How will Foster help me in my goal?

Those are some of the questions i can remember off the top of my mind. I then asked 3 questions and that was it!
Lasted about 20-25 mins.

I got the invitation today. I applied for R2 so I guess the R2 invitation is being sending out now. It was an email from Andy Chen stating that you should contact the person who covers your region and schedule for an appointment. It was the same period of time as the R1 interview so I guess the adcom will only make this one trip and the rest are done by skype.
I personally would like to have a face-to-face interview but it was only five days away so it's really stressful to prep for it.
BTW, I am from China.
