Hi,

This was my first attempt for GMAT and have scored 660. Unfortunately, i screwed up my IR, scoring just 2.
I want to apply this year only and I am planning for ISB/NUS.
Is it possible for me to take admission with this score or should i take the GMAT again?

Hey Tarun,
For ISB it's not gonna be high enough... for NUS.. maybe. But that'll depend on the rest of your profile.

Best,

Tarun,

I recommend retaking the GMAT and getting some individual tutoring. While you would have a chance at NUS, the chance is much better with a higher score. Contact me if you are interested in private tutoring. Good luck!

Hi Tarun,

I am in the same boat.

What have you decided? Are you going to give another shot at GMAT or are you going ahead with the applications?

I have scored 20 points lower than you and was looking at Emory, Marshall school of business, Mendoza college of business and NUS.

I have close to 9 years of experience in IT field. Not sure, how this would translate.

Also one more damaging part to my application is that I screwed up in IR. I scored 1, but scored a 5.5 on AWA.
On consulting with many, I was asked by many to reattempt the GMAT given the low score in GMAT itself plus the IR score.

Vijay,
Those programs are stretches for you based on what I see. Of course I would want to know more about your specific role, leadership experiences, progression at work, extra-curriculars and GPA as well.

That said, I recommend you retake the GMAT before applying. Reach out if you want to discuss study strategies or tutoring options. Scott@personalmbacoach.com

Good luck!

Hi Tarun,

I agree with the above comments here. Since you are targeting ISB and NUS, i would definitely recommend you to retake your GMAT and apply with an improved GMAT Score and IR. It will certainly improve your chances of getting admitted to these B-Schools and other top B-Schools as well.

You may also gauge your chances of getting admission to top business school by trying this amazing tool https://bit.ly/1C9o2Md

Hope this helps.
