(A) This actually strengthens the argument by providing another reason for trainers to spend more time with clients.
(B) This is irrelevant to the argument about the quality of personal training sessions.
(C) While this might affect the quality of sessions, it doesn't directly address the issue of rushed vs. unrushed sessions.
(D) This is about membership fees and doesn't address the quality or pacing of training sessions.
(E) This directly weakens the argument. Even though trainers are paid a fixed salary, if they are required to adhere to fixed time slots strictly, they may still have to rush sessions. This introduces a factor that could lead to rushed sessions despite the salary structure.

Health Club Advertisement: Other health clubs in the area pay their personal trainers based on the number of clients they see each day, which may encourage trainers to rush through sessions to fit in more clients. However, at Fitness Hub, our personal trainers are paid a fixed salary regardless of the number of clients they train each day, so they have no incentive to rush sessions. Therefore, when you join Fitness Hub, you can be sure that you will receive thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

Solution: To weaken the advertisement's reasoning, we need to find an option that challenges the claim that trainers at Fitness Hub provide thorough and unrushed training sessions due to their fixed salary.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
Explanation: This option supports the advertisement's claim that trainers are incentivized to provide thorough sessions. It does not weaken the argument. INCORRECT

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
Explanation: This option is irrelevant as it does not address the issue of rushed or unrushed sessions. It talks about the variety of classes, that is unrelated to the thoroughness and effectiveness of training sessions. INCORRECT

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
Explanation: This option suggests that the quality of training may be poor due to the inexperience of the trainers. While it challenges the quality of training, it does not directly address the issue of whether the sessions are rushed or thorough. INCORRECT

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
Explanation: Similar to Option B this option is also irrelevant as it addresses the financial aspect, which is unrelated to whether the sessions are rushed or thorough. INCORRECT

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
Explanation: This option directly weakens the argument by suggesting that even though trainers are on a fixed salary, they might still rush sessions to adhere to fixed time slots, thereby challenging the claim that sessions are thorough and unrushed. CORRECT

The correct answer is Option E

Answer: E

I've arrived at E by process of elimination, but I still believe its not a very strong weakener.

Therefore, when you join Fitness Hub, you can be sure that you will receive thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results.

This should hold true regardless of the number of clients they train each day.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.

More time with each client means it's even better. It would have been a possible weakener if it said "with some clients" instead of each.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.

Irrelevant.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

Two things to note in this, firstly there's a could affect and not a will affect. Secondly, let's say even if it does and the quality of the sessions is bad, it does not weaken the claim of thorough and unrushed training sessions. Although the argument does make a claim of maximizing the fitness results, but I believe that is through thorough and unrushed sessions and not the quality of the session itself. In short, the quality is out of scope for this argument, thus this option is incorrect. I hope C is not the answer based on maximizing the fitness results.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

Irrelevant.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

This leaves us with only E. Let's say Fitness Hub allocates 30 minutes for each session. The trainers are required to stick to this time slot for each client.
If there are more clients per trainer, each trainer would still be giving 30 minutes per session to each client. I don't see the incentive to rush here. If the clients per trainer increases, still the trainers are giving 30 minutes to each client. If the number of clients per trainer goes up so much that they cannot give 30 minutes to each client, then they could either rush their sessions to finish the clients quickly or they could not take the clients, which would then be assigned to some other trainer. So, if we assume that the trainers would have to take in the extra clients, only then can we weaken the conclusion.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele. (Out of scope)

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions. (Still it did not tell that why inexperience trainers rush the session )

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members. (out of scope)

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots. (Weakens the advertisement reasoning because if trainers have fixed amount of time for each session then it may be possible that they rush through the sessions)

Premise 1: Other health clubs in the area pay their personal trainers based on the number of clients they see each day, which may encourage trainers to rush through sessions to fit in more clients.

Other clubs incentive based on no. of client/day--> rushed training

Premise 2: However, at Fitness Hub, our personal trainers are paid a fixed salary regardless of the number of clients they train each day, so they have no incentive to rush sessions.

Fitness hub- no incentive to rush training.

Conclusion: Therefore, when you join Fitness Hub, you can be sure that you will receive thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results.

FH-->  thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results.
Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

Question type: Weaken

Since, we need to weaken the conclusion, we have to find the option that says even if the payment method is fixed and the trainers doesnt rush to include more clients, it doesnt necessarily mean that the training is thorough and fitness achieved will be maximum. There can be some other reason for bad training.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.

--> Client satisfaction is not discussed and even if the trainers spend more time with client it isn't necessarily the cause of fixed salary. Hence, irrelevant.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.

--> Out of scope.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

--> This corresponds to our earlier discussion that fixed salary will not offer thorough training when the trainers themselves are incompetent. Hence, the answer.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

--> This is talking about the potential after effect of having a high fee and even if FH fees are high that doesn't necessarily mean fixed salary will lead to better training.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

--> Fixed amount of time doesn't necessarily convey that it is a good training because they need to train different type of people. Plus, it a kind of common trap options which changes the context by using it in a different context. Eg: Fixed salary in argument, fixed number of hours. (not connecting).

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
This option suggests that trainers might spend more time with each client to ensure satisfaction, which aligns with providing thorough training. This would actually support the claim made by Fitness Hub rather than weaken it. Therefore, it's not the correct answer.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
This option discusses the variety of fitness classes and their appeal to a broader clientele. It does not directly address the issue of trainer incentives or rushing through sessions, so it's not directly relevant to weakening the argument.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
This option suggests a potential quality issue with inexperienced trainers, which could indeed weaken the claim that Fitness Hub ensures thorough and unrushed training sessions. If trainers lack experience, they may not provide effective or thorough training, regardless of their pay structure.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
This option discusses membership fees and their potential impact on membership, but it doesn't address the issue of trainer incentives or session quality, so it's not directly relevant to weakening the argument.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
This option directly weakens the argument because it introduces a constraint (fixed time slots) that could lead trainers to rush through sessions, even though they are paid a fixed salary. If trainers are forced to adhere strictly to time slots, they may not be able to provide thorough sessions as claimed.

Advertisement's reasoning - Other health clubs pay trainers based on the number of clients daily -> rushed sessions
Fitness Hub pays fixed -> no incentive to rush

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
Not negative
(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
Irrelevant, no mention about time for training sessions
(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
Not related with the reasoning of the ad
(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
But it has unrushed sessions
(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
Well, this seems like the answer as it shows the reason for fixed payment and how it could lead to rushed sessions as other clubs

Choice E

Advertisment:

Evidence 1 : Other health clubs pay their Personal trainers based on the number of clients they see
Reasoning : incentivising number over quality, these club's trainers rush through sessions to fit more clients
Evidence 2 : Fitness Hub trainers are paid a fixed salary, no incentive to see more clients
Conclusion : when you join Fitness Hub, you can be sure that you will receive thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results

Question: Weaken advertisement's reasoning

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback. This choice is supporting the advertisement, accentuatuing the reasoning that trainers spend more time with clients Incorrect

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele. Offering at other clubs is Irrelevant, as the reasoning is based on the quality of individual training session recieved by the client Incorrect

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions. Interesting! So, even though the sessions are unrushed, these sessions may not be effective either because this choice suggests that these trainers are in experienced. Inexperience may not necessarily lead to better fitness result, but this doesn't necessarily point out anything about these sessions being unrushed or rushed. It weakens the overall advertisement but focusses more on the result achieved than the claim that the sessions are unrushed, thorough Incorrect

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members. Cost is not a factor. Since the link between the cost and the average length of a session is not mentioned explicitly, we don't whether cost has impact on the session's thouroughness, quality Incorrect

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots. Correct According to the argument, the fitness sessions at Fitness Hub are thorough and unrushed. However, what if these sessions are strictly timed? This choice suggests that timing the sessions might lead to trainers rushing to complete them. For example, if a trainer has back-to-back sessions and one client cannot finish on time, the trainer may have to hurry through the session to avoid delaying the next client. This undermines the argument by introducing the possibility that strict timing could cause rushing, thereby weakening the claim that the sessions are unrushed.

Eliminate - other health club not the concern

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

Many , how many … eliminate

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

Irrelevant : out of scope

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

Potential Answer

Now Among A and E

A speaks of evaluation criteria of trainers and E speaks of time allocated to each member which is more impactful in maximising the fitness of clients -if less will be sure set back

- This is in fact a strengthener

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
- range of classes is out of scope

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
- Focus is on rushing of trainers and not experience. Hence eliminated

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
- Cost is not in picture here

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
- Even though trainers donot have incentives on more number of clients, but the club can in turn allocate more members and thus limit shorter time. This will make the trainers to rush. Hence wekeaner.

A - Spending more time with each client does not mean that training sessions for others would be rushed. That would be a leap in assumption. Eliminate.

B - We are not concerned with enrollment numbers or increasing enrollment. We are rather concerned about the quality of training for those already enrolled.

C - Inexperienced and recently certified trainers does not mean that they are providing rushed and incomplete training sessions. Eliminate

D - Again, we are not concerned with enrollment numbers. For same reason as B, eliminate.

E - Correct. If trainers have to adhere strictly to the time limit for each client, it does pose a doubt on whether the trainers would really be able to provide unrushed and thorough training sessions.

Therefore, E

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
- This would support the advertisement's claim rather than weaken it, as it provides another reason for trainers to not rush sessions.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
- This doesn't directly address the quality or thoroughness of training sessions at Fitness Hub, so it doesn't weaken the advertisement's reasoning.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
- While this suggests potential issues with training quality, it doesn't necessarily address the thoroughness or the rushing of sessions directly tied to the trainers' payment structure.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
- This might affect membership rates, but it doesn't relate to the thoroughness of the training sessions or the trainers' payment structure.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
- This weakens the advertisement's reasoning directly. If trainers have to adhere strictly to fixed time slots, it implies that sessions are predetermined in length, which could lead to rushed sessions if a trainer feels pressured to cover a lot within the allotted time. This undermines the claim that the fixed salary alone ensures unrushed and thorough training sessions.

Therefore, the correct answer is:
(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.-- trainers might actually spend more time with clients to ensure satisfaction thus does not weaken the reasoning and may support it.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.-- doesn't address the trainer incentive for session length. Irrelevant

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.--it does not directly address the issue of whether sessions are rushed or not so doesnt weaken

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.--discusses the cost of membership and its potential effect on attracting members. It does not relate to the thoroughness or pacing of the training sessions so irrelevant

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.-- weakens the claim that trainers at Fitness Hub provide thorough and unrushed sessions. If trainers strictly follow to fixed time slots, they may still end up rushing sessions if the time allocated is insufficient so which weakens the reasoning

So ans is E Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
