Health Club Advertisement: Other health clubs in the area pay their personal trainers based on the number of clients they see each day, which may encourage trainers to rush through sessions to fit in more clients.
However, at Fitness Hub, our personal trainers are paid a fixed salary regardless of the number of clients they train each day, so they have no incentive to rush sessions.
Therefore, when you join Fitness Hub, you can be sure that you will receive thorough and unrushed training sessions, maximizing your fitness results.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.

  • This would actually support the advertisement's claim, as it suggests trainers are motivated to provide quality, unrushed sessions to maintain high client satisfaction.
(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.

  • This does not directly address the core argument about the quality of individual training sessions at Fitness Hub versus other clubs. It's about the variety of classes, not the pacing or thoroughness of personal training sessions.
(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

  • This could potentially weaken the advertisement by suggesting that even though the sessions are unrushed, the quality of the training might still be low due to inexperience. However, this does not directly challenge the claim about rushing through sessions.
(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

  • This is related to the cost of membership, not the quality or pacing of the training sessions. It doesn't weaken the argument about unrushed sessions.
(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

  • This directly weakens the advertisement's claim. If sessions have a fixed time limit that trainers must adhere to strictly, then the argument that trainers have no incentive to rush is undermined. Even if trainers are paid a fixed salary, strict adherence to fixed time slots means that sessions may still be rushed to fit within those time constraints.
Therefore, option E is the correct answer.

(A) Supports the claim by suggesting trainers focus on quality to maintain client satisfaction.

(B) Irrelevant, as it addresses variety of classes, not session quality or pacing.

(C) Suggests potential low quality due to inexperience but doesn't directly challenge the no-rush claim.

(D) Irrelevant, as it addresses cost, not session quality or pacing.

(E) Directly weakens the claim by showing sessions could be rushed due to fixed time slots.

Therefore, option E is the correct answer.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

Explanation of the advertisement's reasoning: The advertisement conclusion is the green coloured sentence above. The reasoning behind is stated by the purple coloured phrases. And evidence is based on comparison from other health clubs, coloured in blue.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
- This strengthens the argument, as it relates positively to the conlusion and its reasoning.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
- The argument is based on maximizing fitness results and not rushing training, and not about broader clientele.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
- This statement if true, does affect the reasoning, so let's keep it for now.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
- Membership fee has no relation to the reasoning or the conlusion.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
- Rushing is a very important reasoning, and with a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers requiring to adhere strictly, it could result in an incentive to rush sessions when it is reaching an end time. Hence, this is the most appropriate one to weaken the reasoning of the advertisement.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
Strengthens the claim. Since trainers are motivted for evaluation, they'll spend time and give proper training.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
Invalid or out of scope.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
Assurance is about the thorough and unrushed training sessions and not about the quality of the training sessions.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
Invalid or out of scope.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
This directly challenges the advertisement's assurance by suggesting that sessions could still be rushed or constrained by strict time limits, despite the fixed salary for trainers.

Correct Answer E

E directly weakens the advert reasoning because even with fixed salary they have strict time limit for each session. Hence it could lead to rushed sessions.

A,B,D quite easy to eliminate.

C vs E

C says trainers are inexperienced but certified.
We don't have any reason to consider certified experienced collegues to be better than inexperienced.

On E, we are told slots are fixed & so is timing so again trainer has to rush in atleast some cases.

This hits on root of assumption that unlimited time is available for each client at fitness hub.

Hence Ans. E

The advertisement’s reasoning hinges on the claim that Fitness Hub trainers provide more thorough and unrushed sessions due to their fixed salary, as opposed to other clubs where trainers might rush to see more clients.

Let's analyse the options:

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.
This doesn't weaken the argument, but strenghtens.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.
The statement about other health club has no relevance to the argument.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.
While this does looks like it weakens the argument, but it doesn't attacks the argument on "thorough and unrushed sessions".

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.
Again here too, fee has no relevance to the argument.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
If trainers at Fitness Hub are required to stick to strict time slots, the fixed salary doesn't necessarily lead to longer or more thorough sessions. Instead, it suggests that regardless of the payment method, sessions may still be rushed due to time constraints. Hence E is the right option.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

Line of thought: they aren't getting rushed, there is no incentive for them to rush, if we can attack that, that should be our answer

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback. -> This strengthens actually

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele. -> Irrelevant, out of scope

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions. -> So what? we are concerned with trainers rushing the sessions, not this.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members. -> Irrelevant, out of scope

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots. -> perfectly in line with our thought, since they have to abide by stricit slots, they might have to rush through the session. Answer

The USP in advertisement is unrushed training sessions.

Which of the following, if true, would most weaken the advertisement's reasoning?

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.-It supports the Fitness Hub advertisement.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.-Doesn't affect the USP of Fitness Hub i.e. unrushed training sessions

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.-Doesn't affect the USP of Fitness Hub i.e. unrushed training sessions

The reasoning here is that when you join Fitness Hub, you will receive thorough and unrushed training because the trainers are paid a fixed salary and don't need to rush to get paid more. Let's see each statement to find which one weakens it.

(A) Trainers at Fitness Hub are evaluated based on client satisfaction, which can lead to trainers spending more time with each client to ensure positive feedback.

-> This does not weaken the argument, so it is not our answer.

(B) Other health clubs in the area offer a wider range of fitness classes than Fitness Hub, attracting a broader clientele.

-> This is unrelated to the thoroughness of the training, so it is not our answer.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

-> This does not address the reasoning regarding the thorougness of the sessions, so it is not our answer.

(D) Fitness Hub has a significantly higher membership fee compared to other local health clubs, which could deter potential members.

-> This does not address the thoroughness of the sessions, so it is not our answer.

(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.

-> This weakens the reasoning because it suggests that trainers might still rush the sessions to adhere to these time slots. Therefore, the training session might be rushed, regardless of the fixed salary. This is our answer.

The answer is E

Only option A and E deal with the Time spent by trainers with client which is the actual reasoning question is targeting so we dismiss all other options.

Option A strengenthen then argument as the trainers are spending more time with customer rather than rushing.
Option E is the correct answer as it appropriately weaken the argument by saying that time is fixed for each client.

(C) Many of the personal trainers at Fitness Hub are inexperienced and recently certified, which could affect the quality of the training sessions.

Let's examine each option:

(A) This would strengthen the advertisement's reasoning by suggesting that trainers are motivated to provide high-quality sessions to get good evaluations.

(B) This does not directly address the quality of training sessions at Fitness Hub or the impact of the fixed salary on session quality. It focuses on the variety of classes, which is irrelevant to the advertisement's reasoning.

(C) This weakens the advertisement's reasoning by suggesting that even if trainers are not rushed, their lack of experience could still lead to lower-quality sessions.

(D) This does not address the quality or thoroughness of the training sessions. It concerns the cost of membership, which is not related to the reasoning in the advertisement.

(E) This weakens the advertisement's reasoning by suggesting that despite the fixed salary, the trainers are still bound by strict time limits, which could prevent them from providing thorough and unrushed sessions.

Comparing (C) and (E), both weaken the reasoning, but (E) directly addresses the advertisement's claim about the thoroughness and unrushed nature of the sessions due to the payment method. It suggests that the fixed salary does not necessarily lead to thorough sessions if time constraints are still imposed.

Thus, the option that most weakens the advertisement's reasoning is:
(E) Fitness Hub allocates a fixed amount of time for each session, and trainers are required to adhere strictly to these time slots.
