Starting with Reading section, we are given that Atlas and Cascade = Standard, so Beacon = Introductory

Since Beacon has its introductory section, its practice and assessment must be Standard & Advanced.
As per 2nd pointer in given info, practice is limited to only Advanced or Introductory. So, Beacon must have Advanced Practice and therefore its assessment must be Standard.

True : Beacon has a standard assessment section
False : Beacon has an introductory practice section

A and C have Standard reading and only one module has Intro reading so that has to be B. since one intro is included now B cant have Intro in practice and assessment.
Exactly 2 modules have Adv Practice, so one is definitely B and last one is Standard assessment
A --> Stand Reading,
B --> Intro Reading, Adv Practice, Stand assessment
C --> Stand reading,
So answer is B has a standard assessment, true as always. and B has intro practice definitely false.

Atlas and Cascade already use Standard reading, so Beacon must have Introductory reading. Since each module must contain one Intro, one Standard and one Advanced section, Beacon's 2 remaining sections are Standard and Advanced.
Also, because exactly one module has Introductory practice and Beacon already has Intro reading, Beacon cannot be that module, so Beacon must have Advanced practice and therefore, Standard assessment.

Must Be True
Beacon has a Standard assessment section
Rationale - Beacon's reading is Intro and its practice must be Advanced, so the only section left for assessment is Std.

Must Be False
Beacon has an Intro practice section
Rationale - Beacon already has Introductory reading and each module can use only each level only once.

Neither
Atlas has an Advanced practice section - could be Atlas or Cascade
Cascade has an Intro practice section - could be A or C
Atlas has an Intro assessment section - depends on whether A gets Into practice or Advanced practice
Cascade has an Advanced assessment section - depends on C's practice assignment.

Based on information provided in point no. 1 & 3 along with last sentence of question, we can say that Beacon must have Introductory reading section. Hence, Beacon module can't have Introductory practice section. Statement 2 is a must be false.
Also, as per point 2, Beacon must have Advanced practice section because introductory section is reading in beacon. So, it must have standard assessment section. Statement 5 is a must be true.

I really struggle with these Sherlock Questions.

I made a table and we are told exactly one module has Introductory reading section. And Combining with the third statement we can see Atlas and Cascade already have Standard reading section so only Beacon can have Introductory reading section.

From Statement 2 its said:
Exactly two modules have Advanced practice session and remaining has introductory practice session.
Since Beacon already has an Introductory Section, it must have an Advanced Section.
Cant really say about the second advanced practice whether its Atlas or Cascade.

So only thing we can say for sure is Beacon has Introductory Reading and Advanced Practice.
This also means that Beacon will have a Standard Assessment Session since each module has one type each.

Based on these observations:
I can say from the options:
Must be true: Beacon has a standard assessment.
Must Be False: Beacon has introductory practice.


Took me a lot time to really get to a solution.
Someone please suggest a easier solution than mine

From the stem, we can gather that:

Atlas and Cascade has Standard Reading section.
Beacon has Introductory Reading section, Advanced Practice section and thus we can deduce that Assessment is a standard section.

Using this information, we have our following two answers:
True- Beacon has standard assessment
False- Beacon has introductory practice

We'll first use third information point- A and C have standard reading section. In first, it is given that exactly one has intro reading section- that becomes B

So, B has intro reading section. Hence, they can not have intro for practice. Which means, as per the second point, B will has advanced for practice session (since practice section can only have either advanced or introductory and B can not have introductory for practice). Hence, his assessment section has to be standard because each module contains 1 introductory, 1 standard and 1 advanced.

These are the two things we know for sure thus making the second statement false and fifth statement true.

The others can not be known for certain because section A and C can have practice as either intro or advanced and based on that, their third section's level will be decided.

We are told that there are three modules and within each of the three modules there are 3 sections

Additionally, from the question stem we should note that in each module there can be only one introductory, standard and advanced section each.

Since EXACTLY one module has introductory reading and we are told that Atlast and Cascade have standard reading so Beacon MUST have an introductory reading module

Hence, Beacon having a introductory practice module is false because there can only be one introductory section and in Beacon already has an introductory reading section as per our assessment.

Hence for False, Answer is B i.e Beacon having an introductory practice session

Now we know that since Beacon already has an introductory reading section, it cannot have an introductory practice section. Since we are told that EXACTLY two modules have an advanced practice session and one has introductory section, then it must be true that beacon must have an advanced practice section.

Next, If beacon has an introductory reading section and an advanced practice section, it MUST be true that Beacon has a standard assessment section

Hence answer is for True is D

This is Simple. So Its given Atlas & Cascade have Standard reading section
Which means Beacon will have Introductory reading secion (as per known info 1.)
Now there are 2 advanced Practice session &1 intro practise session which means for Beacon Practise will be advance since reading section is already introductory and as per stem, every employee must have one section Intro, one standard & one Advanced
Which leaves Assessment as Standard for Beacon

So, True : Beacon has Standard Assessment section
False : Beacon has introductory practise section

From the question, we know the following:
1. Exactly 1 person has the Introductory reading section.
2. 2 advanced practice and 1 introductory practice
3. Atlas and Cascade have the Standard reading section.

Let's look at this section-wise
1. The reading section
- Beacon has an introductory section
- Atlas and Cascade have standard reading

From here, we know that Beacon's other sections might be standard and advanced.

2. The practice section
- Beacon has an advanced practice section, because it already has an introductory reading section. (helpful to identify the false statement)
- Either Atlas or Cascade have 1 introductory practice or 1 advanced practice.


3. The assessment section
- Beacon's assessment section is standard.
- Either Atlas or Cascade has 1 introductory assessment or advanced assessment.


Looking through the options
1. No surety in the information given that atlas has an advanced practice section.
2. False, as beacon has an introductory reading section, from the above concluded information hence this sentence is false.

Atlas and cascade both have standard reading selections.so, beacon is the one who has introductory reading section.
Hence , the second statement of the table that beacon has an introductory practice section is false .
Now, exactly 2 modules have advanced practice section . The remaining one can't be beacon as it already has one introductory section . so, beacon must have one practice session .

now there are two possibilty - if both atlas nd beacon has advanced practice section this make both of these statement true-

1. Atlas has an advance practice section and
2. cascade has an introductory practice section

but the instruction above tells these can't be two true statement . so, this appproach is not the right one .


now if , we suppose , cascade along with beacon has advanced practice section .atlas must have introductory practice section.

This confirms the elimination of 1 & 3 statement of the table .

As, atlas has only advanced assessment , beacon has standard assessment & cascade is left with introductory assessment . This eliminate 4 and 6 statement from the table .

so,

true : beacon has a standard assessment test .
false : beacon has an introductory assessment test

A and C have standard reading. Since only one module has Introductory reading, B must have that.

Each Module requires one of each (Introductory, Standard and Advanced sections). Since the Practice column has only Advanced and Introductory, B cannot have Introductory Practice, which implies that B's practice is advanced and Assessment must be Standard.

A and C can split Introductory and Advanced Practice or Assessment levels, but no information regarding that is available.

Looking at options, we can see that:

- B has a Standard Assessment section - True
- B has an Introductory Practice section - False

Atlas/cascade reading is standard, beacon reading must be introductory. Now 2 modules have advanced practice session and remaining has introductory. Thus beacon will always have standard or advanced now. Hence beacon will have standard assesment section and beacon will not have introductory practice session as he or she has in other sections.

From statement 2, we know there is no module with standard practice section. Both C and A have one of the modules as standard, so no other section can be standard there. So the standard section must be mapped to assessment of beacon module.

Hence, the statement "Beacon has a standard assessment section" must be true.
