Hi everyone, one of my clients reported to me that the login page of the gmac website is not working - https://www.mba.com/my-account.
He had a scheduled gmat online exam at 6 p.m. est today. Because of this problem, he couldn’t give the exam.
Any recommendations what he can do now? Thanks!

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been posted already - I did a quick search of the forum and couldn't find anything that was specific to my situation.

I use a fairly small laptop which I generally use by connecting to a much larger 27 inch screen. I am hoping to use this setup for the actual GMAT exam. I have an external webcam as well as external mouse and keyboard so I am able to close the laptop lid (to ensure I cannot access multiple screens) when I'm doing the test. Will this be allowed?

It appears that some people (in reddit) have been able to do this, but was wondering if there has been an official stance on this? I also read somewhere that the application will close any external monitors - is this true?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to GMAT Club.

There is no official stance but you should be able to use the external monitor. What happens when you launch the GMAT is the application takes over and only one monitor is enabled/working. All other monitors are disabled. To succeed, make sure you have only one monitor showing up in the Windows or MacOS control panel. That's pretty much the same thing as having a desktop with a monitor attached to it.

P.S. I just tried it on my laptop by closing the lid and the control panel showed only one monitor, so you should be just fine.

Yes by using your external webcam. It will also help you to do a 360 check, if asked by the proctor.

Hi,

Just have my Online GMAT

The proactors were fine I felt. No trouble from them.

Found the Quant section quite tricky as in the question felt unfamiliar with respect to Official Mocks or even OG. But Got 75% DS questions. What does that mean? If anyone has insights into that?

Also, in verbal something very strange happened. Got no RC till the 17th question and then got three in a row. Moreover, CR were very limited and mostly fill in the blank and evaluate. No assumption or inference. Got one Bold Face at the end. As compared to CR, SC were more for sure.

Any insights. Rest will see the result and get an Idea.

any updates on this, my man? :) Did you get your score break-up? Your experience with the Quant section worries me because I am also about to take GMAT test in a month.

Well quant score was below my mock score. So definitely not a good score.

Aww sorry to hear that man. It might have been just a bad day as well. I hope that you pounce back and get your desired score. :)

Pardon me if the question is asked already.
Can we book an online and an offline attempt (at center) simultaneously? Say I book today an online attempt for 2 Dec and an offline attempt for 16 Dec as well. Is it possible to do that?

(Reason: Center GMAT dates aren't constantly available. Hence asking to book one beforehand just incase someone does badly in online initially)

Pls reply. Thankyou

I booked a test at the local test center and they let me know today that it was canceled. I will have to take the test online. Can someone please confirm if they were able to connect their laptops to an external monitor? I have very small screen on my laptop.

Thanks in advance

I took the test today in the morning. Everything went as expected this time. The first time I took the exam the proctor interrupted me in a very aggressive way but there was no interruptions this time.

Just took the GMAT online. As others have stated, the difficulty of Quant feels significantly harder as compared to that of the mocks.
Has anyone who has taken the online version recently felt the same?

I think part of it was nerves and a rough question one (which sounds ridiculous, but emblematic of my experience), but I can't imagine that i scored well on quant when it has been my strong suit (48-50 on mocks). Verbal, on the other hand, felt good.

I'll also add that the overall experience (system test, proctor, etc) was totally smooth. No issues at all, which came as a surprise given other peoples written experience. I was never interrupted by the proctor and even comfortably "mouthed" words. I was even touching my face, forehead, etc and no issues came of that either.
