Hi all, not sure if they are sending out all updates at the same time, but I just got an email from Berkeley at 4:00pm ET with the subject line: "Berkeley MBA: Your Application Decision"

Dinged. Status updates are available on the web. I didn't get an email I just signed into the website. Good luck to all those still waiting and congrats to those who made the cut

Rejected Really thought I had a shot. 760 GMAT! 3.8 from an Ivy! What are they looking for?

Waitlisted also.
Did anyone else get waitlisted who was interviewed really late? I interviewed on 18 Mar, so I'm wondering if they just didn't have enough time to make a decision and they'll let me know soon, or if they're really throwing me into the waitlist pile just because of my late interview...

Any admits to other schools? What was your pitch? As you probably know, Haas has quite a small class and is more particular about your story and cultural fit and less insistent on numbers. I may be wrong, but it may in fact be THE school where your numbers mean the least among the top schools. In my case, I put considerable effort into crafting my story and making sure all aspects of my app supported it--such that even if the readers didn't find it particularly interesting, at least it would ooze credibility.
Feel free to PM more details if you want to chat/get free insight.

Dinged with no interview. Would be more disappointed but given I managed to get on the WL of my other "reach" this one doesn't hurt too badly. Congrats to all the new admits and best of luck to everyone!

Dinged..
I really love Haas, especially after interviewing many students/alum and also from my interview/on-campus experience at Super Saturday and visiting a class. Oh well..
I wonder if I have any chance at Sloan, considering this devastating news..
Of course, gotta keep perspective. Congrats to the rest of you who got admits!!

Take it easy. Dude. I share the similar background, pity and even anger with you. I even cannot enjoy two years' happy time near my home in CA. But fate is fate. B-school application is a game where there is no need for an answer.

It is not all about the numbers! Having high GMAT/GPA helps (A LOT) but it is not enough to secure an admit at any top business school. I believe that your story (WE, personality, fit, ECs...) and your career goals (how marketable you are post-MBA according to your goals and prior WE) are more or at least equally important factors that b-schools take into consideration. Demographics are also very relevant, if you belong to a highly competitive pool you will need to make higher efforts to stand out from the "crowd" than if you have an "atypical" profile.
