Here are my 2 cents on the Status changes:

The Applilcation status remains in "Application under review" as soon as they have verified that all your documents are present.

Status description (when you click on "status report" on the main screen) is what changes and this will give you an idea as to when exactly the adcom guys start reviewing your application.

Stage 1: The description reads something like " Your application is ready for review......" and under additional notes they put in comments if they will need your official transcripts etc at a later stage if you are invited for interview

Stage 2: When the adcom guys actually pick your application for review, the status description changes to this -
"Your application for admission to the Berkeley Full-time MBA Program is under review by the Admissions Committee. You will be contacted at the decision deadline to see your final admissions decision"

Once your status description changes to this, you can start looking for an interview invite. Now, nobody knows how long it takes to get interview invites after Stage 2. Some got it in a week, others even longer..... probably based on how may hands your application passed through or based on availability of an alum for interview etc etc.

So all of you whose status description reads like whats mentioned under stage 1, do not panic until you reach stage 2.
others under stage 2, hope for the best!!

Mine is in stage 2 from 18th and I am in a panic mode right now.

Still in stage 1. Start to feel bad... There's not many days left for R2. TAT

Congratulations, dman25! By the way are you R2 or R3? Any Haas R3 applicants around?

I'm R2 - submitted about 9 minutes before the deadline

Don't get panicked till you see an official email. There is a slight chance that you may be placed on waitlist without an interview. looking at the interview statistics on gmatclub and beatthegmat, I think still there are good number of invites to be sent ...

I sure hope there are more invites coming out, even though I've been stuck on the same status since submission.

Don't they know I'm impatient and NEED to know whether or not I'm getting an interview invite? How rude.

Has anyone given the skype interview yet ?
I am from India and they dont have alum interviews here . So they suggested i do the skype interview . I am contemplating going to Cali but then its already too close to decision day and Im not sure if I could get the Visa and all other formalities in place soon to leave decent breathing space for ad-com to decide.
Can someone advice me here.

Hi Kapil,

Congratulations on your interview invite. I have been in that visa queue many times at the Mumbai embassy. It will take you some time to get all the formality done. You can send them an email/call saying that you are willing to travel for the interview within India or SE Asia if they can find you an alumni.

Secondly, a skype interview won't hurt you as long as you have done your homework on Haas culture. If you do end up going for a skype interview here are some useful tips.
https://essaysnark.com/2012/11/skype-interview-tips/

I would call them because that is faster. Also, Berkeley is really prompt in resolving issues around interviews.

I hope that helps. All the best and let us know how it goes.

I am very glad I interviewed as part of the Super Saturday even though I had visited Haas many times. It was overall a great experience and I had a chance to meet the adcom, current students, and fellow applicants. I also just wanted to share my interview questions. Most questions were the typical MBA interview questions - why MBA, why Haas, what are your career goals, leadership experience, teamwork experience, etc. The only question I can think of that I hadn't seen on clearadmit was "Tell me about a time you had to put your team members' interests above your own interests." Hopefully this helps. Now just gotta wait till 2/21!

Are there truly no interview invites going out, or is it just that people are not updating on this forum? Didn't get to see too many interview invites in the recent times (past one week). I hope there is more to come, for R2 applicants and adcoms have not jumped onto R3 and forgot all about us

Something feels fishy - maybe they just have unusually high volume and are taking longer to get invites out??? :|

Its nice to think that they are overwhelmed and taking longer.... But, feb 21st is fixed and I dont think they would push the deadline any further. So whatever it is, final decisions should be out in 2 weeks from now :-D
