I may not have enough time to get a certified copy from my university though. I also have the original certificate which I would be little hesitant to hand it to someone. If it helps, all my transcripts and certificates are in English.

My question:
Should I try to get a certified copy or notarized copy here in US from a Circuit Court clerk? Or should I bring my original certificate and the copy certified by the magistrate?


In case someone is in the same situation.
I called admission office about this dilemma and they told me that I can send my original copy to the admissions office to verify. I was told that notorised copy will NOT work. So be aware of that.
Major crisis averted. I think having my degree certificate in English helped a bit. Now all I need is an interview invite. :)

I just found a really fatal mistake in my essays. I quoted a wrong number so it is going to be different from my resume. I am done.. I am not going to get an invite.

Hey, so I wrote the revenue generated from a social service initiative wrong in 2 different essays ($2400 and then $3400). I informed them in a separate email and apologized. It definitely does not look good, but I would send them an email informing them that its a typo or that you have written it wrong in the essay, and you are sorry for the faux pas. Just what I think. That said, I've applied for the super niche dual healthcare MBA and I know I'm almost a certain ding so I had very little to lose with this school.

Sorry false alarm, I realized that was in an earlier draft. In my final draft I made it clear that I was talking about two different projects/grants. Phewww. crisis averted. 8-)

And that is precisely why I carefully avoided taking even a glimpse at my submitted essays and materials until I received an invite. Perfect way to stress & freak yourself out. :)

My application status is just "received". I have submitted it on 16.1. right before deadline. When did you submit?

I am little bit worried since from McCombs and Simon I received interview invitation next day after the deadline passed. So I am worried that this waiting from Haas and Stern may be a bad sign. :?


Hey AlanSmithee - I applied to Haas probably around 12-14 hours before the R3 deadline. And I don't think you should be worrying yet.. No one from R3 seems to have gotten an invite :) Let's just wait and see where we get with this! Good luck do you.

Does anyone from R2 still have the same application status as mine below? Will it change at all? I have not received any update or invite from Haas but I saw some people said their status changed to something else like "final decision will be released" but still have not got updates either. What is the process here? Anyone knows?

Me too. IMO, I started to hope for waitlist now - especially when I saw one guy from my country already got interview. Haas class size is too small to fill both of us in. :cry:

Do not give up hope based on perceived geographic balance. I spoke to a local alumnus who told me that there were 5 students in his class from my (small European) country.

I have a friend who received an invite last Wednesday (I think he is a R2 applicant).

I don't think that is an indicator of anything but here is what some other people think.

Also, some applicants from R1 has stated that it means you will be on waitlist.

With this week already ending, I am not hoping for much. However, according to haas, invites can go out until deadline date. I think people whose application just went under review, still have chances of getting invited. Others too, you never know, you may be next!! Wait until THE day.

As for me, I am back to the drawing board trying to reflect on what I did wrong and how to do better the coming year. Meanwhile, if I get lucky and get an invite, I will be thrilled.

Haas confuses me.

On the 8/14/12 online chat, it reads:

The interview process starts a few weeks after the round deadline, but will continue right up to the decision release deadline given the volume of applications and our holistic approach to evaluating every application.

So the interviews are conducted up until the decision deadline.

However, 4 months later, on the 12/13/12 online chat, it reads regarding the interview process (R1 in this case):
Quote:
As Stephanie mentioned in her email update this week we will continue to send out Round 1 interview invites up until the notification deadline in January.

So invites are sent up until the notification deadline, as opposed to what stated earlier.

Do you understand this differently and care to clear things out for me?
