Sir, With all due respect.
I Believe GMAT Exam revolves around psychology only, as its being an adaptive exam.
the last few batches were made up to that standard only to get students a feel to "how to cop up with Time Restrictions". Since we all be having that in real exam. The last few batches might be hectic to many because of varying Time Zone. But i am sure we all learned enough through 100s of questions from all level.
This Competition was an eye opener for many of us. and i am sure we will be focusing more on our main Goal that is GMAT.
Cheers to all of the participants who give their best. Irrespective who ever end up being winner.
I am sure we all done the best of our efforts.

Regards.

Your point about psychological aspects of the GMAT exam are noted. The GMAT exam certainly presents psychological challenges and I would, in passing, strongly suggest that students learn to handle these challenges well ahead of their exam.

Coming to the point here. The students won't be taking their actual exams on the GMATCLUB website. Further, students won't be typing explanations to the questions and watching for notifications and doing associated tasks. The issues that I presented apply to some unique psychological challenges that were presented through the use of this medium. Both published and ongoing research discusses psychological aspects of website design.

I do agree with your other points. You do well by emphasizing how useful this exercise has been for all concerned. And of course, people are exhausted from the effort. It was important training for all concerned. Best of luck to all.

I don't quite understand. Why would you blame it on system? The timings were announced early on weren't they? When you know in advance that there's going to be a 9 am batch as well, You just had to rush to the home page to find the new set.
And about notifications, If you're following the thread, Notification does pop up in the corner right whenever there's a new post, to add up to it, you receive an email as well.

There are many psychological factors at play.

Even "When you know in advance", the brain can get overloaded, distractions happen with pressures and the brain forgets.

And with "You just had to rush to the home page to find the new set.", this places additional psychological challenges. Similarly with the notifications. They can be missed, especially when many of them pop up and the person is distracted with another task.

Our brains are cognitively limited. They are subject to biases and delusionary behaviors. This entire subject is both academically and practically very important. Psychological limitations have important implications for both human and societal functions. From a researcher's perspective, I have some insider knowledge of this subject.

Finally, this wasn't suggested to be blameworthy. Rather, it was feedback from a participant who experienced similar challenges as the OP. Cheers.

Your only limit is the limit of your limitation my friend. Psychological factors, agreed. But that's the whole purpose of a competition. If most of the contenders can do it, it is doable. Your have to train your mind to that level. So you had 2 whole hours assigned to you in total and when you know it, you must pre-decide and prioritize the tasks. Just like any other competition, GMAT doesn't care what task/question you're working on. The timer is ticking and it won't stop until 2 hours 15 minutes are over. It won't notify you either when cross that 2 minutes mark that you'd assigned per task/question OR even you're switching across the sessions in the new GMAT online which most of candidates are considering right now. So this, just like the real deal, is a test. all you could do is learn from it and train for the real test. Its a total win-win. Good luck :)

I am compeletely different person (in respect to GMAT) now, from what I was before HOT Competition. A sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to make this competition live.

Yes, like many of you, I will definately miss this competition. This was the only competition, other than my football matches, in which I focused much on playing rather than on Scores. (Though I have shown greed for kudos?).

Further, guess what...? I have fallen in love with GMAT Club.❤.

Thank you bb, Bunuel, generis, yashikaaggarwal, all other moderators(SORRY for no names) and all the participants.

Good wishes to all GMAT aspirants.

Hi Moderators,

Thanks for this amazing Competition !!

A small favour needed...
It would be amazing if you guys could compile all these HOT Questions in one folder/section after the completion is over. It was such a rush, I haven't gone back and checked all my answers or noted down my mistakes/learning. Its all over the place in my notifications rn. It will be nice to access the entire HOT Question set separately.

If you plan to do this, please let us know where to find it!

Hello guys! And my fellow Guardians of the Galaxy mates, we definitely jumped from 4th position to the 2nd, which is a stupendous surge in our scores and accuracy.

HOTwas definitely an eye opener for many, who are planning to take up the GMAT soon.
On a personal note, I loved the concept, the way we all logged on at 8am PST, or 9.30pm IST, like wise, for competing and saving our clan's identity.

Most of all, I will surely miss this vast set of amazing questions that held us for long, but intrigued us to the peak.
I'm sure GMAT Club is helping millions achieve their dream, and HOT has been a great success and a super fine learning experience for me as well as others.

The concept of HOT is super cool and insightful. Kudos to the entire team of Moderators and our beloved founder bb

Thank you once again!

Best Regards,
Raunak Damle!
