Edit: Moderators and I have received numerous PM's with people asking to review their 95 explanations :lol: so I would like to make an announcement and clarify:
To date, over 8,000 explanations have been posted. That's a lot of explanations and we can't review all of them again. However, we would like to give you a path to appeal if you feel strongly about our decision:

1. If you feel there an error made in the last 48 hours and the explanations that were awarded kudos in the last 2 days of posting ONLY (Thur and Friday), you can post your appeal here.
2. You cannot submit it via PM. PMs related to the competition will be promptly deleted and not read
3. Reviews take time and they are not free to moderators. If we review your post and find that your post still did not qualify for Kudos, and you wasted our time, there will be a charge of 5 Kudos that will be removed from your account from past explanations. This will decrease your point balance so choose which questions you want us to review carefully. It should actually be 10 since most requests end up not deserving kudos (e.g. posted too late or missing half the explanation).
4. To submit a request, post it in this topic AND link to your explanation from only last 48 hrs and if you wish you can provide supporting evidence (e.g. very similar explanations that received kudos). A team of 2 moderators will review your request and award or deduct kudos appropriately.

Thank you for the revision, I can now feel inner peace with those two that deserved kudos and four "not sures". Btw, my bad and sorry to appeal this one: "Image for a non-geometry question", was easier for me to take a picture of it given the lack of time :lol:

Hi bb, since the initial rule was that we could not make claims about moderator criteria to assign kudos, I did not write anything about some explanations. I am checking all my explanations again and I am getting some that could have an additional review.
Just to be sure on my path, I would like you to clarify two points:
Are we allowed to make claims about previous questions made before Thursday and Friday? In your post, you only allowed it for Thursday and Friday but, shouldn’t all days have the same treatment?
If yes, when would be the latest time we can post claims?
Kindly answer these questions please. BTW, it is being helpful to review why some explanations had some flaws.

Hi. Review completed. This was done by me as it is weekend and I did not dare to use other moderators time on Sunday night. Again, all I am doing is comparing your explanation to the OE and how closely you were to the official explanation. I am not trying to get into the intricacies. Here are the results:

1. Error in D was incorrectly identified.
2. Errors in A, B, and C incorrectly identified
3. Color coding is inventive but not really clear what the errors are though mostly correct, B and E were not correctly identified and likely this was on the very short side of really explaining to someone what the issue was.
4. This is from Aug 24th, skipped
5. Incorrectly identified errors in A, B, C, and D. It was about meaning not about an Idiom
6. Kudos awarded – it seems question was skipped in the fog of war; other users also received kudos who provided an explanation
7. Back to color coding which puts the responsibility on the moderator to guess. This is why you did not receive Kudos. C is incorrectly identified. You did not provide reasons why B, C, D, or E are wrong.
8. Back to color coding which puts the responsibility on the moderator to guess. This is missing some points identifying errors in A, C, and E but it also hits some of them. I can see giving Kudos for this one but note the official explanation depth. Kudos given.
9. Back to color coding which puts the responsibility on the moderator to guess. Very short explanations with color coding. Your coding is not wrong per se but it is not sufficient on its own to explain why certain answers are wrong. I am with agreement with the original moderator’s call. This is not sufficient to warrant kudos. Sorry.

Result: 1 Kudos given for reconsideration; 1 kudos given for question that was skipped by the review team. 1 question from the past that was skipped and not counted and 6 questions that stand as is. That is a price of 25 Kudos total.

Points will settle in the next 12 hours or so.

Hi bb,
I am not satisfied with the kudos awarded to me for the questions posted on 3rd and 4th September(8-9 am PS US time).For total 33 question ,i correctly answered for 21(17 questions on time and 4 delayed due to i don't know how question pop up after 10 minutes on mobile).For correctly answered i got only seven kudos,but in my group other member's point suddenly increased,reversing the neck to neck fight to one sided result during above mentioned period.Also If you don't mind ,i suggest that equal weight age should be given to QUANT /SC/CR questions rather than sc questions only to prevent one sided result.I am not writing this for PRIZE but for REAL GMAT competition.

It's not a Joke. bb made an announcement quite early regarding the rules of reviewing.
Posts reviews are more than just a kudo giving and taking thing. It took hours to review posts. And then rechecking it again and again so to make sure they have not made any mistake while reviewing that.
Admins have a life apart reviewing already reviewed answers again and again.

It's not a Joke. bb made an announcement quite early regarding the rules of reviewing.
Posts reviews are more than just a kudo giving and taking thing. It took hours to review posts. And then rechecking it again and again so to make sure they have not made any mistake while reviewing that.
Admins have a life apart reviewing already reviewed answers again and again.

The final calculation for the Kudos/points/etc has been run and the winner is .... Bunuel :shock: :lol:

I will be doing a more extensive post but just wanted to let everyone know the points have settled. Congratulations JonShukhrat on getting the most points and congratulations Avengers on scoring the most points as a team. Again, a bigger and more meaningful post is coming shortly :cool:

GMAT Club Heroes of Timers Competition
Heroes of Timers is a team-based competition leveraging the GMAT Club Timer.



This Competition Is OFFICIALLY Closed - The Winners Have been Announced
Thank you all for participating and being a part of it. BIG BIG Thank you to Bunuel generis, yashikaaggarwal, mira93, and Abhi077 for helping and sacrificing 2 weeks of their lives to wake up early and stay up late to award kudos and address numerous questions. The stress was huge! You are the true heroes of timers! ;-)

This Season's Summary:
  • Winning Team: AVENGERS with 272,090 Points, followed by GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY with 262,200 points, X-MEN with 240,060 points and a surprising last finish for the JUSTICE LEAGUE with 174,570 poins
  • Top User with the Most Points: JonShukhrat with 13,990 points
  • A total of 1,925 people have signed up for the competition
  • A total of 11,000 correct timers were taken
  • A total of 9,693 explanations have been posted!
  • Guardians received the most points for taking 30 timers per day! Great job!

PRIZES:

All Avengers will be awarded 2 weeks of GMAT Club Tests by the end of the day today.
The top 36 users by Points will be receiving an invitation to fill out a form to mark their preference for the prizes. You will need to mark which prize you wish you receive and in the order of priorities. If the prize is available by the time I reach you, you will get it. Your pririoty level/ranking has no bearing on your chances of getting a prize - it is only a preference. Prizes will be awarded in the following order: Overall winner. Top 3 of the winning team, then Top 3 of the other teams, and then everyone else based on the points down to 36 people. I will be sending a link to you via a PM in the next 24 hours or so. Then there will be a 48 hour period for filling out the spreadsheet and then I will be assigning the prizes based on your preference/priority and availability and you can expect that list to be finalized on Monday next week.
