Re: How many people are standing in the queue at the counter? [#permalink]
(1) If four more people join the queue, the number in the queue will be more than 15.

This tells us that the number of people in the queue is more than 11. However, there is no idea about the exact number

1 is insufficient

(2) If three people give up and leave the queue, the number remaining will be less than 10.

This tells us that the number of people is less than 13. However, there is no idea about the exact number

2 is insufficient

(1)+(2)

Number of people is more than 11 and less than 13

Therefore there must be 12 people in the queue

(1)+(2) is sufficient

Answer is (C)
