Hi guys, I got accepted to the SIM but I’m not sure if i should accept the offer as I don’t speak German, would it be challenging to find a job after in consulting like MBB if i don’t speak German. I do speak french and was also accepted to ESSEC and I am waiting for a response for insead. Please give some advice
It really depends on where you want to work. If you’re aiming for a job in Switzerland, especially in Zurich, not speaking German can be a serious disadvantage. Most big consulting firms, including MBB, generally require the local office language, which in Zurich is German. Since you speak French, the French-speaking part of Switzerland e.g. Geneva or Lausanne might be an option for you, but you’d need to check if MBB has offices there or if these cities are a good fit for you. In Zurich, most expats end up learning German, simply because it makes both professional and daily life easier. If you want further insights about that feel free to reach out.
Hi thanks for the insight, would you say that the SIM degree is recognized even outside of the german speaking part of the world, i have no particular desire to work in DACH
