Hello everybody,
Here is a DS question :
A clothing manufacturer makes jackets that are wool or cotton or a combination of wool and cotton. The manufacturer has 3,000 pounds of wool and 2,000 pounds of cotton on hand. Is it enough wool and cotton to make at least 1,000 jackets?

1. Each wool jacket requires 4 pounds of wool, and no cotton.
2. Each cotton jacquet requires 6 pounds of cotton, and no wool.

I answered E because in my mind we don't have enough information about the jackets made with the combination of wool and cotton.

Can somebody help me on it?
Thanks very much

IMO it should be C

From st1 we get to know he can make 3000/4 = 750 jackets. But no info about cotton. It may be just one jacket (total 751<1000) or may be 1000 jackets (total 1750>1000). Hence insufficient

on similar grounds from st2 we get to know he can make 2000/6 = 333 jackets. But no info about wool. Hence insufficient

Combining we know that he can make 750+333 which is greater than 1000. if he makes only combined jackets (both wool and cotton) he can make (3000+2000)/(4+6)*2 =1000 jackets. hence sufficient
