If the tick marks on the number line shown are equally spaced, what is the value of t/s ?

A. 9
B. 6
C. 4
D. 3
E. 2

Solution:

We see that each spacing is 10 - 7 = 3. Therefore, s = 4 and t = 16, and hence, t/s = 16/4 = 4.

Answer: C
