Let: m = age of mother, f = age of father and d = age of daughter.

(1) $$\frac{(m + f)}{2}$$ = 38 ..... m + f = 76

(2) $$\frac{(m + f + d)}{3}$$ = 28 ..... m + f + d = 84

- Subtracting: (2) - (1):

(2) m + f + d = 84
(1) -m - f = -76

d = 8

(M+F)/2=38
Therefore M+F= 76
(M+F+D)/3=28
Therefore M+F+D= 84
SO, D is equal to 8

Given : M + F = 2 * 38 = 76 -----> (I)

M + F + D = 3 * 28 = 84 -------> (II)

Therefore, from I & II

D = 84 - 76 = 8 Years

Hence (C)

We can create the following equations:

m + f = 2(38) = 76

and

m + d + f = 3(28) = 84

Subtracting the first equation from the second, we have:

d = 8
