Is d<0?

1. e+d=-12---------------1
e=-12
d=0

OR

d=-12
e=0
d<0
Not Sufficient.

2. e – d < -12-------------------2

d=0
e=-13
OR
d=-1
e=-14
Not Sufficient.

Adding equation 1 & 2;
e+d+e-d<-12-12
2e<-24
e<-12
& e+d=-12
Thus, d>0
Sufficient.

if we combine 1 and 2 doesnt it become e+d+e-d<=-12-12(less than equal to)?

x=1
y<2

x+y<2+1
x+y<3 --- x+y can't be equal to 3.

x=-1
y<-2
x+y<-3 --- x+y can't be equal to -3.

d<0?

1. Not sufficient

e+d = -12

d = -12-e

d can be greater than 0 , equal to 0 or less than 0

2. Not sufficient

e-d < -12

d > 12+e

d can greater than 0 or less than 0

together,

Sufficient
