Your profile seems absolutely great. Your work-experience of PM has examples of great impacts, international exposure, innovation, recognition, and leadership. You have various instances of global recognition in your profile as well (which should give you an edge). Being the founder of an NGO and delegate in Youth Parliament are, again, differentiating experiences for your profile. So, apart from your stats, your profile is amazing and I think you stand a great chance at some international schools as well, say, Rotman, or if you look for Europe, then HEC, Oxford should be good matches to you but for these, you will need to scale your GMAT up (latest 700+). Also, I have a piece of advice (as I do not have any details for your goals), the fact that you have a very straightforward experience in your profile it should not make your post-MBA goals very generic. We are happy to discuss further the right schools for you and your chances at them. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Hi I have applied in R1, but my recommender could not complete the recommendation before the deadline. Will my application be rejected or moved to r2 or do recommendation can be submitted a little later as well?

This happens with a lot of applicants. Email ISB and ask your recommender to finish by today or tomorrow

shubhanshdubey97 : with that Gmat score you can apply to any Bschool. Have you applied to some of the top 10 schools?
The only thing worry some seems to be your work ex. 4-5 years of work is ideal

Hi SanyaKullar, it's great that you have a good volunteering and NGO experience, as this aligns perfectly with your interests in the social service sector.

Christ as a college that enjoys a very good brand and you have rich experience across various functions. All this will help you strengthen your profile.

Make sure that your career goals are well articulated so that they seem perfectly aligned with your professional experiences so far. For your goals essay, do mention the specific role that you would want. In fact, social sector consulting would also be something that you might want to consider as your post MBA goal.

All this however, can wait.

Your immediate next step should be to accomplish the score that you are targeting in GMAT (720!)

Hi shubhanshdubey97, your GMAT score obviously stand out in your profile. Make sure you do not lose this momentum, by crafting an immaculate application.

While you have briefly mentioned your current job function, I do not get a sense of your future goals in your post. Generally, management consulting is a career goal that aligns with the Analytics Consulting work that you are currently doing. ISB has a good reputation for launching Consulting careers.

In other words make sure that your career goals show continuity and seamlessness, with your current work experience.

Good evening everyone,
Please evaluate my profile for ISB:

Age: 29 yr, Male
GMAT Score: Not Applied yet

Educational Qualifications -
- Graduation: Completed Dual Degree (B.Tech +M.Tech) in one of the Core Engg branch (mech/civil) from an IIT in 2013 with 6.65 CGPA overall
- H.S.C: secured 78% from CBSE Board in 2008.
- S.S.C: secured 77.4% from CBSE Board in 2006.

Work Experience -
- May, 2013 - July, 2015: Gap Years
- August, 2015 - March, 2020: worked as Physics Faculty for IIT JEE

- Though I have 5 years of teaching experience in JEE coachings but I didn't get any experience letters. How can I justify my experience?
- I have left my current job as I want to change my career path.

Extra Curricular -
- Coordinated a few Tech events in college
- Coordinated the tech festival of our Branch
- Participated in a few Inter-IIT Tech fests
- was Mess Manager in my 1st year of college

Query -
- What type of career path should I expect? From few of my friends who have done MBA from ISB, IIMs, I got to know that students usually get placed in sectors they have prior experience of. So will I, being a teacher for past 5 years, face difficulty getting placed in say, Finance or Consulting sector? I am not really interested in Sales/Marketing.
- In my last job, I was drawing 20 LPA roughly. Does going for MBA justify the switch financially for someone with a profile like mine at my age (29)?
- As you can see, I am a below average candidate.. is there even any chance to get through ISB?

- Graduation: Completed Dual Degree (B.Tech +M.Tech) in one of the Core Engg branch (mech/civil) from an IIT in 2013 with 6.65 CGPA overall
- H.S.C: secured 78% from CBSE Board in 2008.
- S.S.C: secured 77.4% from CBSE Board in 2006.

Work Experience -
- May, 2013 - July, 2015: Gap Years
- August, 2015 - March, 2020: worked as Physics Faculty for IIT JEE

- Though I have 5 years of teaching experience in JEE coachings but I didn't get any experience letters. How can I justify my experience?
- I have left my current job as I want to change my career path.

Extra Curricular -
- Coordinated a few Tech events in college
- Coordinated the tech festival of our Branch
- Participated in a few Inter-IIT Tech fests
- was Mess Manager in my 1st year of college
- was Training & Placement Rep too.

Previous attempts for MBA -
- GMAT: None [Got a 620 Score in the Free GMAT Official Practice Mock without any prep]
- CAT 2013: QA/DI - 99.96%ile, VA/LR - 47%ile, Overall - 97%ile
- CAT 2014: QA/DI - 75%ile, VA/LR - 97%ile, Overall - 94%ile

Target: ISB 2021-22 (Finance)

Query -
- What type of career path should I expect? From few of my friends who have done MBA from ISB, IIMs, I got to know that students usually get placed in sectors they have prior experience of. So will I, being a teacher for past 5 years, face difficulty getting placed in say, Finance or Consulting sector? I am not really interested in Sales/Marketing.
- In my last job, I was drawing 20 LPA roughly. Does going for MBA justify the switch financially for someone with a profile like mine at my age (29)?
- As you can see, I am a below average candidate.. is there even any chance to get through ISB?

Interestingly enough I have similar profile. Just try your luck. . . Even with the best of the profiles, we can't be sure and so is the case with any profile

Would helpful if someone could evaluate my profile

Could you please guide whether my current profile is eligible to apply for Rotman Full-Time MBA program or do I need to give my GMAT Again as most of the consultants here in India are advising me to do so.

Below is my profile :-

Background :- Indian citizen female
Academic :-
GMAT score :- 670
CA 2016 first attempt
CFA 2019 first attempt
XII 90 percent
X 87 percent
Certificates :-NISM certificates, ICAI training certificates

Work experience :-
Total :- 6 years 3 month experience
After CA :- Have 2 years 2 months experience with KPMG investment banking division. During this period I worked with UK and US geography clients and worked on Financial Due Diligence and valuation projects.

Have 1 year 1 month experience with B.R Maheswari co & LLP, top 30 CA firms in statutory and tax audit department, dealt with limited clients like shree cement Ltd

3 years of CA Internship in Direct tax (Income tax) and Indirect tax( sales and VAT) with a reputed CA Firm.

Currently I am doing freelancing of investment banking projects with a reputed firm and managing my campaign on rural women education.

Achievements :-
1) Won KPMG super team award
2) Won best employee award in B R Maheswari co & LLP
3) Head girl of school
4) Majorly my all school fees was on scholarship because of my high academic score

Extra curricular activities :-
1) Founder of start from zero campaign
2) Active participation in almost all the CSR activity in KPMG
3) Won awards for best drama/ dance performance in annual function of school
4) Lead DA team in KPMG fashion show competition and won first award
5) Associated with YUVA SHAKTI SANGTHAN from last one and half year

Hobbies:-
1) I am an avid reader of financial market and ET/ FT are like my breakfast of the day
2) leading social functions and love to choreograph dance performances.
