Only thing that matters in your specific case is your career goals. If you can articulate goals that are clear, realistic and show fit with ISB, you have a very strong chance.
I say that because with your Dentist background you are not a typical applicant. While that is great for diversity, school will be interested to know how are you going to make your goals a reality. Current info on goals looks in the right direction, only thing needed is articulation in the essays.
Rest everything checks the box- Scores, GMAT, Work ex, Extracurricular show good potential.

Background, nationality, and educational background:
- 26 years old, Female, Indian national, currently working in India as Clinical Dentist
- BDS ( Bachelor of Dental Surgery), 3.6/4.0 CGPA from a Top Dental College in Hyderabad, India
- I have 1 International and 2 National Research Papers
- Led the college Cricket and Basketball team for 3 years as a captain. Three consecutive wins in cricket and two in basketball.
- Heading a team of fourteen, I led organizing various academic and sports events at our college fest attended by over 800 students.
- During graduation, I led a team of ten and the finances for our convocation day.

Work experience and leadership:
- Industry: Healthcare Providers
- Current position: Associate Dentist
- Work ex and progression: 2.5 years. I was promoted once and am on track to be promoted to Senior Dentist at the start of next year.
- In my current role, I am managing 70% of the clinical cases and mostly do the main conversation with the patients. I also manage Interns and Consulting Dentists.

Community and others:
- I am passionate about mentoring and have volunteered with NEET exam Aspirants.
- Mentored 8 students for their MDS (Masters of Dental Surgery) and MS applications (around 3years)
- Lead monthly Free Dental Health Checkup Camps (around 3.5 years)

Post-MBA goals:

TLDR- target a higher score, apply next year.

Detailed answer- past scores are decent and the targeted score does not do justice to these scores.
Work ex needs elaboration- while career progression has been touched upon, not clear what the role is, what might be the achievements. Qualitative aspects of work ex will be much more critical to the success of the application.
On extracurricular front, need more info around accomplishments or impact. How are you planning to make these relevant to the b school application?
Goals are missing and are the most important piece of the admissions puzzle.

If not for the work ex that you have I would have recommended a retake on the GMAT. While still low, you might have an outside chance with even this score, as I have seen a couple of strong entrepreneurial profiles enter with a lower score in the last 2 years.
However, questions will still be raised around your career goals- why corporate world, what happens to the current venture etc.

UG- Institute of hotel management, pusa.- 76.4% aggregate
GMAT- Haven’t appeared yet(aiming to get a 700+)

Work experience:
I have a degree in hotel and hospitality administration. Professionally, I’m a pastry chef. I’m an entrepreneur. I’ve been a home baker for 3 years now. I’m a micro influencer with a following of 29k+ followers on Instagram.

I’m a baking coach apart from being a chef, have taught more than a 1000 people.

My responsibilities involve everything that falls under the umbrella of business management, from product development, marketing, client handling to delivery. And I do everything all by myself, for now.

Extracurriculars:
•I speak conversational french and spanish (b1 level in both from respective embassies)
• I was the junior captain, the vice captain and the captain of my house in school
•Participated in a plethora of literary activities like extempore, debate, plays, singing at inter-school, zonal and district level.

Interests:
•Painting, working out, food photography, learning languages
•I’m also interested in learning the piano and the guitar.

Reason for application:
I wish to open a commercial chain of my own (like theobroma from Mumbai) but I fail to possess the knowledge of the market which I feel a degree in MBA would surely help me with.

Joined the organization straight off campus after my graduation and have been working since. My work includes evaluation and prediction of burn rates for all the solid rocket motors of ISRO. It involves nozzle and grain design and propellant composition finalization as well. I have been rated as Outstanding performer in all the past 3 Annual Performance reviews. I have made contribution to the human rating of India's heaviest rocket for India's maiden Human Space Flight Program. I have been working in ISRO's Augmentation project for Solid motors. The project value is north of 35 Million USD. I have dealt with many Domestic and International suppliers for procurement of various equipment for the organization.

Education: B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
Received 100% scholarship covering entire tuition and residential costs for all 4 years of B.Tech from Department of Space, Govt. of India.
(The institute is Asia's first and only University dedicated for Space Science. Considered top option for Aerospace in the country)
I have a journal published in international journal for work done during last year of my college.
Xth grades: 88.8% (District topper, State board)
XIIth grades: 96.2% (CBSE)

The career break is something you would have to explain. Plan your thoughts well, over explanation might be a dampener. A clarity of goals and how all your previous work experience falls into place would be important.

Hi,

That's a great GRE score.
The career arc concerns me a little. You started off in operations, studied for 2 years for IAS and then got into software development- not the area of your study. I hope your career goals are not in a third direction. The adcom would definitely hope to see some coherence there.
My second observation would be about your career growth. In a way, your career has kicked off since March 2020. Show that you have done some impactful work since then- taken initiatives, and helped your team/client/company achieve key milestones.
Also, studying for civil services is a dream many MBA aspirants have borne before they gave up their efforts to get back to the corporate. So, rest assured you are not alone in this journey. Try to show some personality growth and development during this period. If you were involved in some noteworthy extra curriculars, say volunteering, then do bring it out in the application, always demonstrating the impact you could create.

Hi Rajkumar,

That's a good profile in the making. The undergrad GPA is low, so a higher GMAT score (720+) would help in mitigating the negative impact.
The work experience sounds good and somewhat differentiated. seems like you have a client facing role- always good to have on the resume. That allows you to show some leadership skills valuable in the admissions process - stakeholder management (even within your own teams), good communication, client focus, result orientation, to name a few.
Your ECAs are good as well, although they are common among applicants. The depth of your experience and the impact you achieved will be important here. You have a year's time in hand- if you are not already pursuing some ECAs/ volunteering work/ or are actively involved in your company's ECAs, now is the time to join them and build some experience there. This will help to build a well rounded profile.

All the best for the GMAT. Get done with it by March-April so that you can focus on your application after that. Taking it early will allow give you buffer time in case you need to retake.

Can any experts please guide if I have 10+ years of experience in IT and currently working as a senior Finance Consultant (Business Analyst), what should be my Target college - ISB PGP or IIMA PGPX / IIMB ??

I have read multiple articles that ISB Avg work Ex is very low compared to IIM's and also, senior level positions are more interested in IIM's....is this true. Don't we get good senior level positions with this experience in ISB PGP ?
Need some serious thoughts where to apply and target.

Hi, you should absolutely apply to ISB and to other MBA programs overseas if you so desire. Going abroad or staying in India for an MBA is a personal choice and it really depends on where you want to be post MBA.

Another thing that matters whether you apply in India or abroad is the strength of your profile. The stronger your profile is (Academics + work + ECAs), the higher you can aim when applying to b-schools abroad. So if you have MBA on your mind, continue to build on your profile - it will help you to target more competitive programs.
