I think they are looking at the applications in the order they were received. I submitted my application on 11:30 pm on 10/2 and my status still says "Submitted".

it says 'Submitted'. relieved.. somebody's there with me.. i was freaking out anyone else whose status still reads submitted

Mine still says submitted as well. App was completed 9/18 with final rec turned in on 9/27, so I'm not sure they are going in the order they received them in. They are doing well to get through quite a few already it seems like.

Based on what I've gathered, I believe they may review applications based on region. So the regions with more applicants may take longer to get through during the first few weeks compared to others.

I think that they are doing their review by region as well. Today I got the interview invite and I'm from Latin America

Status updated today: "Currently Under Review - We processed your application and supporting documents. Members of the admissions team will review your application. You will receive updates regarding your application status via email and changes to your application status. Please check for updates periodically." ^ me ^ adcom

I submitted mine on 10/2 at 5pm and my status went to "under review" within a week (don't know the exact date). But, honestly speaking, I don't think it means anything. Cornell is known to send invites randomly. Last year I received my invite 2 weeks before the decision date. This year I received within a week..
