Guys, does anyone have an idea by Johnson's TOEFL requirement for Indian applicants? Is it waive-able?

As long as your UG degree was taught in English and your transcript says that, you're OK!

Thanks zirconium, is this your guess or did you get to confirm from the adcom? Was wondering coz in waiver conditions they state that english must also be an official language of the country. Also in the newly launched Cornell Tech MBA the admissions criteria specifically says Indians need to take TOEFL.

Have applied twice to Cornell, this being my re-app, without TOEFL and was invited to interview both the times. Had also been to the admissions event in Bangalore, India and they confirmed the same. I dunno about Cornell Tech MBA @NYC TOEFL criteria though.

Maybe it's down to location? Below is from the email

I highly doubt that. Cos I'm from Bangalore, India and I got it.. My city doesn't even figure in that list.

Maybe..it was sent to select R1 applicants and all R2. Any R2 that did not get an invite/save the date?

Hi,

Relatively new to the forum, so please forgive me in case this question has already been asked.

Just wanted to know if I can apply to Johnson in R3 given that I am from India. Not clearly mentioned on the website. Will not be ready for R2 given it just a week away and have some other apps to work on.

Generally, for any US bschool, it is not a good idea to apply in R3. The round is significantly more competitive than the previous two rounds since most of the seats have already been filled, you get zero consideration for a scholarship and more importantly, even if you get in, as an international you want to have some time for the visa to get processed. If you think you can't get your application ready for R2, IMHO it is better for you to apply next year that is if you don't have any other personal reasons for wanting to apply this year.

Normally I'd advise against Round 3, but Johnson is a little funky - Round 3 deadline in February is not quite the same as a Round 3 deadline in April. Especially if you look at this link:

https://www.johnson.cornell.edu/Full-Time-MBA/Admissions/Important-Dates.aspx

They'll accept applications up until April 30 and give decisions on a rolling basis...that's sort of like what Round 4 was like last year, so I would avoid doing THAT.

I don't see any drawback to applying Round 3 though, there still seems to be scholarship money being handed out at that point (one of my classmates got a scholarship in Round 4 last year).

Select R1 applicants throws me off though. That implies they are already filtering people in and out which just doesn't make sense to me given the sensitivity surrounding admissions. Who knows though? Guess we will find out on December 11th.

I was wondering if anyone knows more about the opportunities available in Finance through the AMBA program at Cornell.

Thanks!

If you're having trouble finding the email of your interviewer, contact Marcie at [email protected] or (607) 255-4660. She's the nice lady who probably checked you in. She'll probably the best to connect you to your interviewer. If you interviewed with staff, here is a list of contacts. https://www.johnson.cornell.edu/Full-Tim ... ct-Us.aspx

Hi, Any AMBA applicants out here?

I am. You asked about AMBA finance opps. Have you contacted any Johnson Ambassadors? I talked to a few and they were very helpful.

Thanks,

Sage Social is cool, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the free food and booze. It'd be great to attend if you can, but if it doesn't work with your schedule, I wouldn't sweat it.
