Wow...an hour! I'd say that's a good sign!

Wow...an hour! I'd say that's a good sign!

The questions are quite normal, mostly about my work experience. But she asked A LOT of questions! leaving me little time to ask her questions in the end. But the atmosphere is quite relaxing

hey guys,
does it make a difference to have an alumnus (who hasnt worked with me professionally) send a note to the admissions office?
i interviewed last monday. this thumb twiddling before results come out is quite nerve racking

I don't think it would hurt. I had an alum offer to do that. He sent it to a couple of directors of the program/scholarship I'm interested in.

Is there anyone who's been accepted and invited to a scholarship weekend? How soon after acceptance were you invited to one of the weekends?

I've heard that as a cgsm applicant, most people won't hear anything about potential scholarships till after the member schools meet next week. Has anyone heard anything different?

Thanks. I heard similar things last fall but I wasn't sure since I still got the acceptance. I'm wondering if other schools are waiting to accept until after that. NYU told me I would know about the fellowship and acceptance at the same time.

I was WL without interview. Submitted some updates and have been invited for interview.

Reaching out to applicants who have been waitlisted without an interview.
1. Has anybody been bumped up and got an interview?
2. Is there any further information on the waitlist size, or what timelines are we looking at?

Posted from my mobile device

Which round were you wait listed in?
How many updates did you send?

just did my interview yesterday and like someone above said, a LOT of questions. the interview lasted almost an hour and the questions are mostly about current job, team work and leadership experience, career aspiration, short/long term goals and community involvement questions.
Of course I had those typical walkthrough and why questions but I don't think those were the focus.

Figured I'll throw another report into the ring since everyone in these forums has been so helpful:

Thought it went fairly well, interviewer was very friendly and seemed receptive of what I was saying.
She had my resume and some notes from the other adcoms, but had not personally seen my application.
There were a decent number of questions, but still conversational. Why MBA? Why Johnson? What other schools did you apply to? How would you want me to describe you to the other adcom members? Then she took questions from me at the end.

It was a comfortable environment, my only concern is that the order of some of the questions lead to a retread of some points. Hopefully I'll here some good news in a few weeks!

my first post in Gmatclub! and i dedicate it to Johnson.

Just interviewed, 44mins, skype, by 2nd year student. (for those who interviewed for an hour, r u interviewed by adcom or 2y?)
Felt so unsafe right now because much fewer questions than i thought (and compared to others): walk through resume, why mba, why johnson, career goals, my contribution, other schools, and only 1 behavioral question.
the process was very conversational. and the interviewer shared a lot her own experience in Johnson, which was really amazing!
all i can do from now on is to wait and to keep refreshing this thread every day...

good luck to everyone!

Don't sweat too much over that, I wouldn't think the length of the interview (or even the overall quality of the interview to some extend) matters much. I have heard applicants with really "short and basic" and sometimes "horrible" interview experience (according to the applicants themselves of course) got admitted.

My guess is that as long as you addressed all the questions logically and you demonstrated the traits of a qualified MBA candidate, you will be fine

Hello everyone. 45 mins Skype interview with a 2nd year. Hope my experience might be useful to someone.

1. She introduced herself briefly and outlined the entire structure of the interview
2. Questions included- Walk me through your resume, why MBA/why now, short term/long term goals
3. Moved onto behavioral questions (2)- One instance of challenge faced at work, one instance where you changed a decision for a senior, one instance where you innovated at work, one instance of a team conflict and how you handled it.
4. Moved to why Johnson and what can you bring to Johnson
5. Any questions for me?
6. Which Business Schools are you applying to?

Highly conversational and comfortable setting. Some technology glitches from the interviewers side but it wasn't bad enough to interrupt the experience.

All the best.
