i've received replies to my thank-yous, but my interviewers have been 2nd year students (not admissions folks).

Depends on that particular adcom member. And a response is not indicative of anything.

is Kellogg still sending out interview invites?? Decision date is 18-Dec for R1.
I got interview waiver due to unavailability of alumni in my area. Ad com told me that they may consider skype/phone interview at a later stage if necessary.

Anyone else in the same situation?

Just concluded the Skype interview...
Fairly standard questions. The adcom lady just had my resume so it was just the basic queries like- tell me about yourself, your university, your goal, why mba, any ques for me.... etc.
There were follow up questions during answers so it was pretty engaging but fairly non- nerve wracking... :)
I could steer it as I wanted so at the end of it all I can say that I plugged in all I wanted the admissions officer to know (basically content from my Kellogg essays!).
It was scheduled to go on for 30 mins and ended in 35 mins.
@Rahulmba2... I asked the lady to give you preferential treatment but she said she had no applicant by the name of "Rahulmba2" :p
@Narenn... Thanks. I hope the result is positive.

So karan, what did you ask here for "any ques for me" part??

Not sure about all the questions but based on mbanerd16's last comment - one question was " Would you give Rahukmba2 you preferential treatment in admissions ? "

Hahahahahahaha... :-D
On a serious note, I asked the lady about two specifics:
Firstly, how easy it is to meet faculty who are unrelated to your courses. I have a specific professor I want to interact with who would not be teaching me in my major (if I get an admit that is...).
Secondly, congratulated them on their fund raising project and asked a follow up question about student participation in the same.

I did my interview with an adcom member on Monday. It was very laid back and conversational, which was great. Pretty standard questions...take me through your resume, tell me about your leadership style, how do you resolve conflicts on a team, why do you want an MBA, what specifically interests you about Kellogg, etc. I think I did well, we'll see!

Good luck everyone! It's going to be a long two weeks.

FROM Kellogg MBA Blog: Student Experience: MBA Ally Challenge

Students crowd into the atrium for Drag TG

During the 2013-2014 school year, FriendFactor selected Kellogg to participate in the FriendFactor MBA Ally Challenge. When I learned about this challenge, a sense of excitement overcame me — we now had the chance to show the world what an inclusive community we have here at Kellogg, as well as to help raise awareness of matters impacting the LGBT community. Through the competition, we are compared to the other programs based on the following factors:

  • Membership tally
  • Number of ally activities hosted
  • Awareness of LGBT matters
  • Overall culture
I’m happy to say that as we near the end of fall quarter, we are in second place (out of 12 programs) with only Ross ahead of us. We also are the only school to have been awarded silver status (and gold is definitely within reach for us!).

  • Gold: Have membership of at least 200, host 9+ activities, and be in the top 25% of all programs from expected outcomes
  • Silver: Have membership of at least 100, host 6+ activities, and have an average score of 75% from expected outcomes
Participating in this Challenge has made me aware of a couple of things, which I am hoping to enhance in my tenure as Ally Co-Chair:

  • While we have an extremely supportive ally base, the Kellogg community is not as aware of issues impacting our LGBT peers. One way we are addressing this point is by including an allies section to our Gay and Lesbian Management Association (GLMA) e-mails.
  • Kellogg students love participating in events hosted by the GLMA! To foster this connection more, we are looking to partner with specific student organizations and bring about even greater change.
To learn more about the MBA Ally Challenge, please visit https://www.friendfactor.org/mba-ally-challenge.  I can’t wait to see how things fare throughout the rest of the year!

Nisa Agrawal, 2Y – Class of 2014, is originally from the Chicagoland area. Prior to Kellogg, she was an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers but came to Kellogg with a desire to move into marketing. As an Ally Co-Chair for the Gay and Lesbian Management Association (GLMA), Nisa enjoys helping her fellow peers learn more about issues impacting the LGBT community. In her free time, Nisa enjoys spending time with family and friends, singing, dancing and teaching Zumba.

Just to keep myself entertained for the next few weeks... does anyone know the approximate percentage of applicants that Kellogg interviews (since they apparently don't interview everyone like I originally thought), and then the percentage of interviewed applicants that get accepted?

Not sure if they stopped sending out invites. It's possible that they're still inviting people, just no one from this forum :)

Concerning your old interview, Kellogg used to give re-applicants the option of using their old interview instead of interviewing again. That was NOT the case this year. All re-applicants had to schedule a new interview. Kellogg might use your application from last year as a whole for reference purposes, but they certainly will not substitute a new interview with yours from last year.
In order to be admitted, you must have been interviewed during the current application cycle. So I guess you have to keep your fingers crossed, because there's still time to be invited to interview (even if it is via Skype/phone)

Hope it helps! Best of luck!

Does anybody know for sure if Kellogg has a loan for international students that doesn't require a cosigner at all? From my understanding, their NU Loan program requires an international cosigner.

Can anyone provide further info?

Thanks a bunch.

Hello everyone, I'm an international R2 applicant and have a question with regard to the word limit on the box-type questions in the application. I observe that it does not have a word counter which mentions how many words/characters are remaining.

Reading through this year's thread, I learnt that the pdf preview at the end is truncated, leading some to believe that the limit is ___ lines. I also read in this thread that the AdCom reads the application in a similar format to ours and one should not read into the errors of the pdf.

Having said all this, I still don't know what the limit is on such questions. Can somebody help out? Perhaps some R1 applicants who found out about this?

Many thanks in advance

I've heard something similar which states that you need an international co-signer. But I haven't heard anything about a loan which does not need a co-signer at all.

Reading this article gives me hope that such an option is available (I'm looking for such an option too! ):

I emailed Kellogg about this during round 1 and asked,

"I reviewed my application proof and saw that the "Description of Duties" for each employer was cut off after 6 lines. Will the entire description show up when the application is reviewed by admissions? Or should I only include 6 lines of information for those descriptions? There are no character or word limits specified for that section."

The reply included:

"Please double check that what you entered in each section is correct as we see what you see within the application."

So I kept full-lengthed descriptions in my application without regard to word count.
