If you're like me, you didn't get a call but received an email saying the status changed on your application and to accept/reject your place on the waitlist. It SEEMS there are some changes in the WL game than years past: in the letter it didn't tell us not to contact them. Rather, it told us to wait until mid-Jan for our WL Manager (now abbrev WM) contact info to be released. I assume we won't need to do anything until then. "When will I receive an update regarding my application status? The Admissions Committee will be rendering admit and deny decisions on a rolling basis between January and August. Pretty sure that no one from R1 waitlist gets an update (unless accepted) until June 24:

Hey guys,

I got an admit call this afternoon around 2:00 p.m. West Coast. I was waitlisted from Round 1. Best of luck to all of you! I applied for 2Y Full Time Program - sent in only ONE email update, no additional letters. I also never spoke to my waitlist manager, who never responded to my email.

Congrats man. You must be thrilled.
I am getting the feeling that Kellogg really improved their yield this year and that they won't be admitting to many people from the wait list.
This is just a personal belief. I can't base it on anything accept some conversations I had with people from the same geographical area as mine who were accepted.

Of all the updates that Kellogg expects, admits from other schools is one of them. Its also a measure of how good you are and that might make them think deeply on your candidature.

You can always put a deposit down and see what happens with Kellogg. It is not the cheapest option, but keeps you in the game. I am not sure they are going to have much movement until Deposits for R2 are done at early of May.

Ironically I just got the ding from Kellogg at the same time as I started to draft the e-mail. I'm a bit shocked to be honest. There was a lot of correspondence with my WL manager, 3 relatively significant updates. I did not expect the ding to come so swiftly or painfully

I have heard that the WL is also a lot smaller than years past, so that could be the reason for the limited movement.

Yes. That's why I knew it was coming. I literally spoke to my WL manager on Friday and she stressed that Kellogg was still very much interested. However, I guess it was not meant to be. I'm left wondering whether I should have sent this e-mail sooner. S I G H.

I think the timing is the most surprising part. I literally spoke to my WL manager on Friday! She gave me no indication that anything was amiss, so my guess is that some decisions were made earlier this week (Monday - Wednesday).

I still want Kellogg really badly but I think it's not make or break.

Dinged after waitlist from R1. Kinda sad because I loved the MMM program but I've come to grips with it and will be continuing to the Ross School of Business.
