This time the waitlist removal/acceptance both seem to be happening on a rolling basis

Hey all, I'm a Kellogg 1st year and former waitlister. For those of you still awaiting decisions--I know what you're going through. I was a 1st round applicant last year and got accepted (finally) on 5/7. A shocking number of the most talented folks I know at Kellogg were WL'ers, and one was accepted very late in the summer. I didn't really do much of anything to promote myself off of the list last year, but YMMV.

I was really frustrated this time last year, but have ended up extremely pleased with the final outcome. At the end of the day, nobody cares how/when you get admitted.

If anyone has any questions or wants to chat after getting a final outcome, feel free to PM me.

Thanks for sharing your experience Zomba and congrats on your eventual admit.

It's amazing how trying the process can be but I'm working on changing my mindset which is helping.

I think the hardest part is not knowing what to tell family and friends when they ask where you're going to school.

Onward!

Hey, wondering if any R2 wait-listed candidates got the WL manager contact info yet? It's almost three weeks but I haven't heard anything from the school yet...

Guys do you plan to call your WL managers, or send them a quick email update?

Kellogg's WL is puzzling to me this year. Some from round 1 took a very proactive approach in providing multiple updates, reiterating interest etc and were subsequently dinged whereas others simply provided 1 email update (I am in this boat, provided 1 update regarding a promotion) and are still in the mix. Honestly don't know how to approach this one.

As of now I only see three people from the forum who's gotten in from the WL. Does anyone know of anyone else? Seems like they're waiting longer and/or admitting fewer people from the WL this year.

I think you should ask your WL manager. I certainly did. WL managers are very helpful. Normally there would be something specific they would be looking for from a WLed candidate (something they are not convinced about). It might not even be an update but more of any explaination of something that was confusing in your application.
After covering this aspect you can add your other updates but they might not help you if they are not 'very significant'.
My sole update/explanatory mail was pretty long. I had clarified about the importance of few other updates on the call itself with my WL manager and so I did not add them or send any other mails.

Best of Luck.

I haven't heard of anyone else get in off the WL. I have heard that a lot of more people have decided to go to Kellogg than last year (from my certain population). Which I take to mean that Kellogg was able to raise its yield this year. I think that they handed out a lot WL offers thinking they would have a low yield like last years and the yield turned up being considerably high. So I think there will be less people that get in off the WL this year.
What do other people think?

nothing yet. Last time I got an email around 10:30am EST. I will likely resign the WL in the next few days. Good luck

Guess the April 23rd comment wasn't meant to indicate a hard date on which we would receive an update.
