London is a city on move, this makes its airport one of the busiest in the world. this what? incorrect

B) London is a city on move, which makes its airport one of the busiest in the world. hich has nothing preceding it INCORRECT
C) London is a city on move, a fact that makes its airport one of the busiest in the world. CORRECT
D) Being a city on the move, London has made its airport one of the busiest in the world. Illogical. London doesnt make the airport busy, the condition that london is on the move makes it busy INCORRECT
E) London , a city on move, makes its airport one of the busiest in the world. same as D, INCORRECT

"this" or "these" are pronouns, so you have to put what are you refering to (i.e. a noun) right after them.

I agree with you, London is a city, or a thing; it cannot itself makes its airport the busiest place.

Is this an OG question?

Isn'it it too colloquial that "a fact that makes its airport one of the busiest in the world." modifies "London is a city on move"?

It's (C). Every other choice has modification error.

Reading in between the line may be futile sometime. Many of these writings seem to be literary and not literal. 'Make' may mean 'prove' or corroborate in the context
Second, in the given text, the word 'move' is used as a noun and it is customary to fix an article before such as 'a move' or 'the move'.
In addition, London has more than one major airport such as Heathrow, London City etc. To refer to only one of the airports is un-factual

A silly question: While option C is the correct choice and it may be obvious that the pronoun "its" in the sentence refers to "London". But, as per the rule, does pronoun not modify the nearest noun? And, the nearest noun would be "move" here as the "noun" form of "move" is used here and not the "verb" form?

Request experts to please correct me on what I am missing and throw some light here.

(A) London is a city on the move, this makes its airport one of the busiest in the world.

(B) London is a city on the move, which makes its airport one of the busiest in the world.

(C) London is a city on the move, a fact that makes its airport one of the busiest in the world.

(D) Being a city on the move, London has made its airport one of the busiest in the world.

(E) London, a city on the move, makes its airport one of the busiest in the world.

Official Explanation:

Answer: C

(A) This is a run-on sentence because a comma cannot connect two independent clauses.

(B) Which incorrectly modifies the action of the entire preceding clause.

(C) The correct answer. The phrase a fact acts as an appositive.

(D) The use of being is awkward. It also distorts the meaning by suggesting that London has consciously made its airport one of the busiest in the world.

(E) This sentence again distorts the meaning by suggesting that London has consciously made its airport one of the busiest in the world.
