Congratulations on killing it man! I knew the perseverance would pay off. If you had ONE piece of advice for someone stuck in the 600s, what would that be?
Thank you
souvik101990 ..... Such words coming from you mean a lot.
I would like to break my answer into 2 parts:
For people scoring in low 600s:
They must be lacking in their basics. For GMAT a very strong foundation is required. I would suggest such people to go through the basics again and review each and every question they solve (verbal/quant) even if they get it correct. While reviewing one comes to know about various tricks that other people on the forum have used to solve that particular question. By doing so one can gain experience to look at a particular question from various angles and thoughts. This is very helpful while solving hard questions because they have a straight forward answer but are convoluted enough to trick the majority.
For people scoring in high 600s:
These are such people who have mastered the basics but lack in application of the concepts. I would suggest to solve quality material and gain the required experience. Again review is very important part of prep. In my last month of preparation I started doing LSAT questions more frequently than before in order to train my mind. Since, LSAT questions are harder than GMAT questions in general, they make you think. LSAT question collection by Broall is a gem of a collection.
That is my recommendation for people in their 600s. Again, this strategy might work for some people and not for others, but people should never loose hope. There are many people with great character on GMAT Club and I think it is a boon for people like me.
I hope my suggestions will be able to help atleast a few people. I am very glad that I joined GMAT Club last year.
