Hello all,
I come from a background in architecture/marketing and I want to pivot into a Product Marketing Manager position in big tech or even media, thinking of companies like Apple, Google, Netflix, Walt Disney... I live in LA and I would like to return to work full time in LA pos-MBA.

Is it worth going to UVA Darden or CMU Tepper if I would like to return to the West Coast?

A part of me would love to go to Michigan Ross but they are not willing to negotiate my scholarship and it just doesn't make sense to me to get into massive student loans when I have great options to go for free. What do you guys think?

I think USC Marshall makes the most sense considering the LA trojan network and the full ride as well as the fact that would be the most convenient to me since I wouldn't need to move. My concern with them is the placement in tech so that is where UW Foster comes to mind.

I'm a little overwhelmed with what school to choose based on financials, prestige and program's strength, and would love everyone's insight!

Scholarship info:
USC Marshall (Full Tuition)
UVA Darden (Full Tuition)
UW Foster (Full Tuition)
CMU Tepper ($110K but they can potentially match full tuition)
Michigan Ross ($40k, not willing to negotiate)
USC makes the most sense imo.

I would maybe vote for Foster… If you’re going into tech, and this is where a lot of recruiting happens. You’ll definitely have a chance and a shot.

As a career switcher, you may want to be somewhere where most career switchers are successful. Check out the stats for the same. This holds true for Michigan Ross, who claim 93% of their graduating class are career switchers. Many top B-schools publish these stats. However, if you aren't sure about these stats, I would say go with a school that feeds heavily into PM roles, thus Foster or CMU in my opinion. If you already have a good network in the Bay Area that you can leverage, you can also pick USC over everything else.

Thank you all for the invaluable insights. The choice of location weighs heavily on my decision, largely because I've spent the last decade in LA, where I've established a network of friends and professional connections. Honestly, I'm drawn to Ross, but I graduated from my undergraduate studies with student loans, and I'm acutely aware of the burden they impose and their profound impact on one's life. The thought of shouldering that burden again is daunting. Nevertheless, I am planning to attend the admit days to gain a deeper understanding of the schools and make a more informed decision. Once again, thank you all for your feedback and support; hearing your perspectives has been immensely helpful!
