I may be reading too much into this, but could it be alphabetical by last name? Hard to tell since not many people have their names on here... The last few admit posts appear to have last names closer to the end of the alphabet...

I highly doubt that it would be by last name or alphabetical..I think the process would probably be simple...Decide on a candidate..communicate the decision to the interviewer and have him call as soon as possible..Your applications are probably divided into batches based on your EID and i guess it could depend on the batch you are in or when the adcom gets to see your "file"...But lets not make too much into the process...
I agree with vomhorizon. There is probably no specific rhyme or reason outside of general guiding principles as to when an application is reviewed, and I would say that applies to most schools. They may go based on when the application was received, region, name, industry, etc. Or they may just wait until the application due date and then have a CRM that randomly spits out applications to be reviewed. Same thing could happen after the application is complete (i.e. after the interview). Remember - these are university offices with a few employees, not corporations with all the best tools. It was reported by another user that McCombs also had a new application system this year which will cause some of the issues we are seeing with correspondence to applicants.
For example, the first admissions decision I received came from another program on the advertised decision notification date. Others reported on GmatClub that they received admissions phone calls the day before. Each had different profiles and not all received a massive scholarship (i.e. the school didn't call only its "superstars" early). I was freaking out that night at home. The next morning on the decision release date my status was updated to tell me I had been admitted and I received a phone call telling me I received a scholarship as well! They mentioned that they were hoping to call everyone on the day prior to the admissions release date with admissions but got caught up in other meetings, etc. Sounds familiar to what any one of us may go through on a typical day at work.
Long story short - It ain't over until it's over. As prospective MBAs we have a lot vested in these applications so it is natural to obsess. But by doing so we also turn every anecdotal data point on GmatClub into "law" when that is just not the case. Try not to worry too much (easier said than done!) and don't lose hope until you have a definitive answer (which can come at any time until the decision release date). Only 2 more days to wait after waiting this long already.....good luck to everyone!
