Hello,

Forgive my ignorance, please.

I just submitted the app for R2. I did not receive any email. What I could see is - Application submitted on Jan 20th, with a few components shown to be submitted and few others(Submission to GIAC, application fee) awaiting. Is the application really submitted?

Thanks
Para

Yes, your application is submitted but you will be asked to make payment in another day or twos time and then you will be asked to upload your transcripts at GIAC in another few days.

Nice to meet you again. In for R2.

haha, same here friend!! I have just submitted my application. BTW, on which day did u receive an admit mail from Olin?

Yeah the waiver is part of the app and my transcript has it too, but just checking again.

There is a section in the application that you can check for TOFEL waiver. Thus, I believe we do not have to send a separate request for TOFEL waiver.

Did anybody else post on twitter or Instagram with #whyTexas? If so what did you do?

I thought that was really neat and didn't see that on any other applications that I did.

Hey! Can you (or anyone else willing to chime in) explain what the instruction re: the #whyTexas hashtag? I applied via Consortium, so I didn't see this part of the McCombs application. Thanks in advance!

I don't think that it's actually an evaluative portion of the UT application, but they ask you to share #whyTexas via twitter or instagram. There was also a link to share a blog or a linkedin profile page. I'm sure if you just tweet at them or post on IG that they would like it, it seems like more of a collection for marketing materials then an evaluative process. I just thought it was kind of cool.

I believe I selected the TOEFL waiver in the app. But in my list of pending things, I see that I need to submit TOEFL score. Anyone faced the same issue? I might have to write to the adcom.

Thanks,

TOEFL is shown pending in my list, but then again I had opted to send the scores and they haven't received it yet, so maybe that's why.

Also, I still haven't received the "What I Owe" mail.

I too haven't received what I owe mail; however it may take 1 to 2 business days for the adcom to process and send the mail.

Same here. Also, I sent my GMAT scores a week ago and it says they still haven't received them. Has anybody who sent GMAT scores been told they've been received?

The status on 'https://graduate-admissions.mccombs.utexas.edu' says the recommendations are still awaited, whereas the 'utdirect.utexas.edu' says only the official test scores are still to be submitted and my application otherwise is complete. Both my recommenders tell me they have already submitted the recommendations. Is anyone else facing the same problem? Should I contact the admissions team and ask them if they have received the recommendations or not? Any help or pointers in the right direction will be highly appreciated.

The payment can be made through the 'utdirect.utexas.edu' link which was sent through email on submission of your application. You can upload the transcripts there as well after paying the application fees.

Hope this helps.
