Austin has one required essay that asks the students to imagine that they have completed their MBA at McCombs and reflect on how they achieved their personal and professional goals.

This is an interesting essay because to answer this essay the student should know how they will be spending their time at McCombs to achieve their professional goals. I guess a lot of research is required to answer this question because each applicant will wish to spend their time differently. Reaching out to current students and joining info sessions are really helpful to collect more information on McCombs. Also, it is important to not forget about personal goals part of the essay - maybe it is about exanding one’s community involvement or learning about new cultures etc.

Try to read more on these links: https://www.stacyblackman.com/blog/texa ... ay-advice/

The articles on these links helped me to build a better perspective on this essay. Also, we have an info virtual session coming up in the first week of Jan. Please enroll to learn more about McCombs from the Adcom.

first know that energy and utility companies in US do not hire international students.
However you may aim for consultanting companies wherein your domain knowledge may be useful

Indian students tend to apply to texas schools given texas dominance in energy but recruitment in these companies is not there

sadly for international students, there is not much choice to do that.
Frankly, career pivots do happen but what I have come across by numerous interactions is that you take you get...coz with a small window of 3 months post grad. you dont hv much of options. Though consultancy can surely be targetted given the strength of a b school

i dnt know much about ur work ex. but I guess program manager is one such role which you can surely target

I guess you will be applying to R3 as R2 due date was yesterday. 680 is not a score that will put you among desirables but defintely it is a good score and with well thought n crafted essay you can have a chance. But R3 is something I am not very confident of .....may be someone else can throw some light on that or you cam refer chat from previous year intake.
But your gmat score should not deter you from applying
