Just bought a plane ticket. I am headed to Welcome Weekend.

The only info I can find is here: https://blogs.commons.georgetown.edu/mb ... e-weekend/

To participate, is it necessary to register online somewhere? Just show up? Anyone know?

It's on the Welcome Website, which can be accessed by right clicking the link in your offer letter and opening in a new tab or window (I've seen a couple of posts on the thread about the links not working. Not true!). Once logged into the site, you go to "community," "welcome events," "full-time MBA events," and then "welcome weekend more details." The registration link will be around the top/middle of the page. I also registered for the MBA Club Happy Hour happening on April 3rd. I look forward to meeting all of my fellow admits!! #hoyasaxa

Congrats to all students who have been admitted in Round 2. Looking forward to seeing most of you during the welcome weekend or this fall.

And all the very best to those who have been wait listed.

I would suggest all admitted students to join the group (link below) on Facebook. The group is a great resource to network with fellow admits, current students and admissions team members as well as get any questions/doubts clarified.

Wait-listed without an interview. :)

Indian applicant here. Got grad education and quite solid ECs; Work Exp is 7+ years (5 years in Middle East & SE Asia) in material handling, energy & utilities and general infrastructure sectors. Last 2 years were more project management, government liaison, operations & sourcing/procurement though. And now I'm looking for a strategy + operations dual focus training.

My GMAT ain't so good @ 680 (q-47, v-36], GPA is 3.2-ish and there's almost nil EC after college - I guess these are my weakness, which cannot be rectified within next few weeks. And getting wait-listed without an interview ain't a good sign, is it? Fervently hope this decision will be converted into a solid admit anyway. I went to a Jesuit school for 13 years and owe a lot to the good people of the Society of Jesus. Will I get another two years more in this Jesuit university? :)

So.. I was waitlisted after interview in R1 and now I've been asked to continue on the waitlist.
No email update; just status update on the portal.

Indian applicant here, so this waitlist is as good as a ding since visa won't fall through after the next update anyway.
Congrats to all you admitted folks!

Hi,

I am an Indian applicant and have been waitlisted after an interview. Can somebody throw some light on the waitlist procedure, how it is cleared and when will we get to know the final result (considering the time that will go in visa processing post the result) ?

Also, are there any chances of getting a scholarship if i get a convert after being waitlisted ?

Any help and guidance will be of great help. Unfortunately, this college seems to be my best performance for the season

Garv

Garv, I think we are in the same boat. I applied in round 2 as well and I have been wait-listed after an interview. Really interested to know when we will get to know the final decision and how much time we get to accept it.

From what I've gleaned reading the online forums, there are no specific details about how people get off the waitlist. If there are admitted candidates who don't accept the offer of admission, thereby creating vacancies, the adcom will then turn to the waitlist, I presume. Nothing much that you can do to get off the waitlist, unfortunately. :-/ Sending any additional documentation may not be of much help. If I were to take a guess, there may be movement around the R2 deposit deadline, by when Gtown will have an idea of who is accepting admits and who isn't. Then they might start looking at candidates on the waitlist. Again, I'm just speculating. There was an R1 applicant who posted upthread saying that he's been asked to continue on the waitlist, so who knows when things will move. Keeping in mind the visa process, it may be better to start looking at alternatives.

EDIT: unlikely that there will be any scholarship money left as it gets closer to R3.
