Hi all,
So for the third (and hopefully final!) time, I am going to attempt to take my GMAT. The last two times work got too busy and I had to stop studying. Luckily the next 2 months or so should be slow.
So my current level is ~630 (
MGMAT, ~Q40/~V37). Before I started studying (January 2012), I was at 570 Q31/V38 (GMAT Prep). I obviously have not really looked at any verbal stuff and have been concentrating on my quant. I am shooting for Q48/V42 final score.
Anyway, so here I am trying to start studying again and I am not really sure how to continue to study quant to get past my Q40 wall. I have
attached my MGMAT assessment in an attempt to get some help interpreting it and creating an efficient study plan. Since it has been several months since I have taken any practice tests/done any OG problems, I am essentially starting over (I don't remember any of the questions). This time around I'd like to do it right (and actually see an improvement, lol)
Here are my takeaways:My PS/DS are equally poor
My timing doesn't seem to be an issue
My materials:MGMAT 4th edition books
MGMAT OG 12 Companion
OG 12 & OG 13
OG Quant
OG Verbal
Sackmann's Challange sets
So here are some questions I have:
1. Any takeaways from my
MGMAT assessment?
2. Working through the OG- last time I attempted to work straight through... would it be better to do it by topic as in the
MGMAT guides? At what point should I attempt the "advanced sections"?
3. I am definitely not going to have time to do every problem in each of Sackmann's sets. That said, are there any that are especially helpful? I have a feeling this is going to depend on my weaknesses more than anything.
4. I am going to be much more diligent with my
error log this time around- how often should I review it?
5. The only tests I have available are the
MGMAT and GMATPrep and I have a feeling I should have a few more. Any recommendations on addition tests?
I would like to take the test at the beginning of September and finally be done with it, giving me right around 2 months for a 100 point increase... this is doable, right? lol
Anyway, thanks for reading and thanks in advance for the help. Here is the link to my
MGMAT test assessments.
