November, 2014 IMBA at IE - Calling all applicants!

I just received my admit yesterday. And of course I am really happy. Looking forward to spending a year in beautiful Madrid.

Less than two weeks after the appointment I already received the admit. Congratulations to all of you.

Have any of the admits seen an actual start date for the November intake? I couldn't seem to find one on my contract.

Congrats. So you still deciding between Booth and IE? Chicago is an amazing school. I guess it really depends what you're looking to do post-grad, and where you want to work.

I don't believe the official dates have been published yet. The start dates for the last 2 years have been around November 20th, so I'm assuming it will be the same. I'm going to arrive in early November to find an apartment/find a roommate, etc.

Congrats! I've never been to Spain, but everything I've seen looks amazing.

Hi, just received an invite for interview , actually in less than 2 days after sending my application...it seem really quick !?
Does everyone received an invite I just wonder as I red an article saying that 95% (almost everyone) of the applicant receive an invite ?

I also received my interview invitation two days after sending the application. And it is true that they invite a large number of applicants to the interviews. This is because of IE's holistic approach. It is really important for them to meet you in person. Anyway don't stress about it and just be yourself. It worked for me. Hope to see you in Madrid in fall.

Thanks a lot for you answer, I was so happy to receive this invite but I feel at the same time that it doesn't mean anything cause there are still a lot of work...
Yeah I'm a bit under stress as I am not from a business background ( sport coach) so I just hope they won't ask me crazy questions...

Audgmat, I am also from a non-business-background: performing arts. And they really appreciate unusual backgrounds at IE. So just be prepared to tell your story. They didn't ask me any tough business questions in the interview.

Even though I have a business background, both my education and professional experience, I had very few industry related questions, maybe two. For me it was very different from my other b-school interviews, and I was caught slightly off-guard. Some unexpected questions I got:
- If your story was published as a book, what would your friends title it?
- What slogan do you live your life by?
- At the end of the interview he asked me if I could change anything I did/said in the interview what would it be
- He also asked me to rate myself as a candidate

My interview lasted just over an hour and in that time he didn't directly ask me to discuss my leadership experience.

Just know yourself and your story (why an MBA, why now, why IE/Madrid, how do you anticipate the MBA helping you in your career), and I'm sure you will do great!

It has been two weeks since I had my interview. I believe interview went really well, but I haven't heard anything about final admission decision. Is this normal? I am an applicant for their Global MBA+ program.

Just checking in to see what everyone's up to!

I'm putting together my funding plan, and have started a Spanish course, besides studying towards gaining my PMP designation before October.

I've received an invite to a generic LinkedIn group for candidates who've been offered admission. However, there is no group created yet on Facebook for the November 2014 IMBA intake (a closed group exists for the April 2014 IMBA intake).

Looking forward to hearing about what the rest of the group is up to!
