Hola amigos!

Just checking in to see what everyone's up to!

I'm putting together my funding plan, and have started a Spanish course, besides studying towards gaining my PMP designation before October.

I've received an invite to a generic LinkedIn group for candidates who've been offered admission. However, there is no group created yet on Facebook for the November 2014 IMBA intake (a closed group exists for the April 2014 IMBA intake).

Looking forward to hearing about what the rest of the group is up to!

Yes, there's also a closed group specifically for the April 2014 IMBA intake.
However, it appears that one needs an ie.edu email ID to sign up. I don't have one - am guessing it's because I haven't deposited the seat reservation fee
as yet. Once I do so (later this month), I'd be happy to create a group for us November 2014 folks!

Hey Benja,

all I received so far to my home address was a postcard from the Dean of Programs congratulating after I got accepted.
Does anyone know when I will get an email address from IE so I can log in to the Facebook group?

Right now I am getting my loans application ready. Lots of paperwork to do… Did anyone here apply for loans? How did it go?

My understanding is that all communication is by e-mail. I supposed one would need to make a special request to admissions if signed hard copies are required.

Also, it appears that the ie.edu email address is provided only after the place reservation fee has been deposited.

As for loan applications, my application to Banco Sabadell was rejected on multiple grounds (all of which were generic). Given the extremely risk averse outlook of Spanish banks in the current economic scenario, I would suggest having a Plan B for the equivalent of 30,000 Euros of funds (This is the advice I received during the interview stage itself).

It's a bit too far out to be applying for loans, but I think you'll be able to find one depending on a few factors. First I'll apply for a loan from Sallie Mae in the US, and if that doesn't work I'll go with one of the private banks. There are quite a few programs out there for graduate student loans (at least in the US I know there are). Plus, giving a loan to a student at a top business school is considered a good investment overall.

Good luck on the PMP. Maybe I should look into that, though I don't know if I'll have the time. :/ I'll have to take a look for this April 14' intake group. I recently got an email from IE, which I haven't read in depth. I think I have an IE email address since I paid the placement fee.

I'm still over here in East Asia (where I've lived for the last 4 years), but I'll be heading back to the States for 2 months this summer. I'm taking 4 months off of work before the program starts to kind of wind down and do some things I like before classes start. The two months before the program I'm either going to come back to Asia and chill in SE Asia and China or head down to Central America for intensive Spanish classes for 5-6 weeks to get my Spanish mojo back after neglecting it over the last 5 years. I'm really looking forward to getting to Spain and getting this underway.

Update : I have been called for a 2nd interview for next week. Keeping my fingers crossed. First time, I don't think I got enough tough questions. Also, I am in 2nd round for scholarships.
