HEC applicants, posting the recommendation questions here for your convenience. I recommend brainstorming ideas for the rec questions first, because you are relying on other people to make things happen; it takes more time.

Letter of recommendation questions – no word limits noted

#1 How long and I what capacity have you known the candidate?

#2 If this is a work-related reference, in what position is/was the candidate employed and for how long?

#3 What do you consider to be the candidate’s principal strengths/talents?

#4 What do you consider to be the candidate’s weaknesses or areas that need improvement?

I had asked regarding Jan 2020 intake. i believe the fitst deadline is Jan 2nd and not Feb 1st.

My mistake issacsolomon - I work with so few applicants for Jan 2 I forgot! So much earlier than any other Jan programs. Have you heard yet? It takes 2-3 weeks; whole decision is final within 5 weeks.

I applied for Jan 2020 in Round 1.

I first received a rejection email for interviews. 4 hours later i received another email which said that i have been selected for the interview. I checked my dashboard on the HEC Paris application, it said not preselected. I have emailed the school for clarification.

Anyone who has experienced the same?

Is this is one of your top choices how cruel! Is it possible you were rejected for preselection but accepted otherwise? Have you obtained any further clarity, I hope? Please share. Wish I had a direct answer for you

Congrats, VJose! They're well aware of that INSEAD is the chief competitor so you will do well to articulate exactly why HEC is the better program for you.

Hello All,

I haven't received an update on my application. I submitted the application on 2nd Jan (IST). The issue with my application was that I had not sent the official scorecard by 2nd Jan. The school received my scorecard on 14th Jan. I am not sure whether I'll be considered for R1, can anyone please shed some light on the issue.

Hi guys, I am a reapplicant and I am working on my application for March deadline. Earlier I applied for Jan-2019 intake in August-2018 and got a reject without an interview. Maybe I applied quite late for an international applicant. In the meanwhile, I have got an admit from a US Top-25 B school with a full-tuition scholarship. However, HEC being my dream school I am trying to give a shot once again. I would really appreciate inputs from people on this forum on how to make the most of my attempt this time.

The decision tracker does not seem to function properly. I have tried multiple times to update my info to 'Application submitted' but it just refuses to update the table.
