Hi,
How can the sentence be "...particles whose radii are smaller than that of a proton"? If radii are plural, shouldn't the construction be.. particles whose radii are smaller than those of protons?
Hello, dips1122. I agree that your proposed change would make for a cleaner comparison, but since this particular sentence uses the non-negotiable a proton at the end, we can only compare the radii of quarks with the radius of a proton or, as appears above, that of a proton. Yes, in the real world, different protons have different radii, but in a Sentence Correction question, you have to go by what is on the screen. Learn what you can from third-party questions, but remember to always center your studies on official material.

Good luck with your preparation.

- Andrew
