An unpainted wall with a total area of 100 square feet needed to be painted with three coats of paint. Nelson began the job by painting an area of 60 square feet. Then, Jamaica painted a total area of 70 square feet. Finally, Bryan painted a total area of 80 square feet. Aȇer Bryan finished painting, an area of q square feet of the wall was covered in three coats of paint. If the entire surface area of the wall had received at least one coat of paint, which of the following specifies all the possible values of q ?

(A) 0 ≤ q ≤ 50

(B) 0 ≤ q ≤ 60

(C) 10 ≤ q ≤ 50

(D) 10 ≤ q ≤ 55

(E) 10 ≤ q ≤ 60

For this question why isnt <=60? When i do it through a diagram i shade the 60, then 70 overlaps the 60 leaving 10 of just 70 to be 1 layer of paint, 20 of no layers then 80 comes in distributed over the 20 of no paint and and remaining 60 can be on the one with 2 layers
plugging in works i got the answers as option d

in the question it is given that there is atleast one coat of paint so that 20 must be zero

What’s the sauce for Quant beyond 705 number properties and arithmetic - I feel my mind boggles a lot with keeping information tight around positive integers/ or just integers; min-Maxing variables and spl. Working the variables and finding number of factors/ prime or even on a question like this for which I am attaching an image. What do you guys think is the real crux to crack atleast 60% of questions at this level?

Ronald scored 600 on the GMAT while Derek scored 338 on the GRE. Therefore, Ronald performed much better than Derek did.

Which of the following is the most serious flaw in the argument?

(A) The argument does not take into account the possibility that Ronald’s score could be a fluke.

(B) The argument does not take into account the past academic records of Ronald and Derek.

(C) The argument arrives at an extreme conclusion on the basis of unverified data.

(D) The argument assumes that standardized test scores are the best predictors of future success of an individual.

(E) The argument discounts the possibility that the GRE and the GMAT may have different scoring scales.

Company X and Company Y are in the business of manufacturing memory cards. Company X sells twice as many memory cards as does Company Y and Company X also has fewer employees than Company Y does. So Company X must be making more profits than Company Y.

Which of the following options best helps to evaluate the argument?

(A) Whether there are any other companies that manufacture memory cards in addition to Company X and Company Y.

(B) Whether both the companies pay similar average salaries to their employees.

(C) Whether Company X will be able to sustain its high sales in the future.

(D) Whether the memory cards of the two companies have similar storage capacities.

(E) Whether Company X is likely to hire more employees in the near future.

Hi. These are not common types of situations but they happen. Most often this is because the test center is closed on that day or they have a renovation or some kind of emergency came up or sometimes the test center may be removed from the system and no longer acceptable for the GMAT.

Bottom line is that this has nothing to do with you and this is all about the test center availability.

Again these are very uncommon and annoying issues but do your best to reschedule.

The government has recently been severely criticized for its decision to block access to a few websites on which malicious information and photographs were being posted. The government has responded to this criticism by stating that while it believes in freedom of speech and expression, this was an emergency and in such situations, you have to cut off the source of the problem.

In the argument given, the two portions in boldface play which of the following roles?

(A) The first describes a reaction to an action and the second describes an action taken in response to this reaction.

(B) The first is a criticism that the argument disagrees with; the second is the point of view that the argument supports.

(C) The first is the point of view of a group of people and the second attacks this point of view.

(D) The first provides a counterpoint to the argument’s conclusion; the second is that conclusion.

(E) The first provides the criticism of an action and the second provides justification for the necessity of taking that action.

There has been a sudden spurt in the cases of suicide amongst teenagers in Tango city. On investigation, a public interest group discovered that all of these teenagers had been listening to songs by an alternative rock group, The Demons, at the time of committing suicide. When the public interest group listened to the songs by this rock group, they were aghast to hear lyrics that encouraged people to kill themselves. Accordingly, the city mayor has decided to ban the sale and download of all alternative rock band albums in Tango city with immediate effect.

Which of the following, if true, would most strongly support the position above?

(A) Songs with lyrics that encourage people to kill themselves can actually lead to people killing themselves.

(B) Alternative rock groups other than The Demons also contain lyrics that encourage people to kill themselves

(C) It is not required to impose a similar ban on movies containing large scale violence and bloodshed.

(D) If people don’t listen to songs by The Demons, they will not kill themselves.

(E) It is the responsibility of a mayor to protect the citizens of his city.

here why are we taking power in the denom?
There could be (26+26+10)=62 contenders for a single character.
26 Uppercase,26 lowercase and 10 numbers
Likewise 2nd character can have similar 62 characters options and so on for the 16th character too...
Thus, 62*62*62*..........*62
(That is 62 sixteen times or 62^16)
Thus denominator has 62^16

I hope it clears
