Consider the following points Virgo:
  1. For reasons mentioned here, we do not speculate on school selection. That said, your profile, especially the international elements in it as well as your educational background will grab instant eyeballs. The goals piece has to be thought through better - there aren't very many 'business' roles in O&G for international MBA grads.
  2. Most (all?) of your ECs are from college time. This will mean very limited brownie points - nothing more recent?
  3. In the context of your target schools and given the about modest GPA, the GMAT can be a potential stumbling block. In the limited time you have before the deadlines, apart from the essays, that is perhaps the only lever you can try to work upon.

Hope this helps some.

Cheers,

Hi Virgo,

Your GMAT score is around or exceeds the median score of most of your target schools, which makes you competitive as far as your academic credentials are concerned. Moreover, if you're applying to five schools by Jan, then you don't have time for a retake.

Your GPA, no doubt, is less, but GMAT is a more recent reflection of your academic ability.

Two things that work for you are international experience (something valued by European programs) and being from not-overly-represented industry. However, what matters significantly is the quality of your work experience: promotions and increase in responsibilities, leadership & impact, and so on. Or maybe a compelling story. If you’ve some of these elements, you’ve a realistic chance at your target schools, including INSEAD.

This is a nicely balanced list with Insead and Cornell probably being the toughest to crack for you but amongst these schools you should be able to secure at least one admit

Re: Profile Evaluation [#permalink]
It all boils down to some major aspects as far as profiles are concerned. GMAT is just one part. No doubt being from a premium institute will give you an edge, but you can further push it if you can retake the GMAT to compensate for your CGPA.

As mentioned in one of the posts, you can also add Rice Jones to the list.
