One important point: I applied to ISB last year with a GMAT Focus score of 615 and was shortlisted for an interview in Round 3. I felt the interview went reasonably well, but I was ultimately not selected.
I have also reached out to ISB Admissions to seek feedback on my previous application and understand areas where I can improve as a reapplicant.
My specific questions are:

- Given that I was already shortlisted for an interview with a 615 FE score, does it make sense to reapply this year, or would it be better to wait another year and build further traction in my entrepreneurial ventures?
- I am planning to retake the GMAT Focus in July 2026. How important is a higher GMAT score in my case, considering ISB already found my profile interview-worthy last year? What score would materially strengthen my chances as a reapplicant?
- Since October 2025, I have primarily been focused on entrepreneurship (Airbnb operations, a PropTech startup, and involvement in my family business). Would ISB view these experiences as legitimate full-time work experience, or could they be perceived negatively compared to a conventional corporate role?
- How should I position my entrepreneurial experiences in the application to maximize their impact and credibility?
- My long-term goal is entrepreneurship, but in the short term I am interested in consumer-focused product, growth, and strategy roles. Is this level of clarity sufficient for ISB, or should I be much more specific regarding industry, function, and target companies?
- As a reapplicant, what would you consider the most important improvement areas for me over the next few months before Round 1 submissions?

Your clarity between short term ask from MBA and long term goal are misaligned and may be confusing for the application reviewer at ISB and that could be one of the primary reasons for your rejection besides GMAT 615 which is much below their median (675)
I believe that you profile has many great points but putting them together to present an amazing application is where you need to focus and work this year. A pointed response to your pointed questions is as follows:
1) It absolutely makes sense to re-apply this year with the experience that you have. Putting your experience across in the best way is what you should work on.
2) GMAT score is very important in your case as the applications reviewers would see this point a clear scope of improvement in re-application so YES you must work on improving it. Any improvement will work in your favour. Anything above 655 will significantly enhgance your chances
3) Yes, ISB will see them as full time experiences if you showcase them as such.
4) This is a question that requires significant brainstorming so I won't be able to tell you this in a written response.
5) Bring more clarity on this point so that reader doesn't get confused. My suggestion would be to not talk about long term goal as entrepreneurship given the fact that the long term goal is not necessarily required to be mentioned in application explicitly.
6) GMAT Score and Clarity in story are the most important areas to be improved this year.
