Hi
Stratus Prep team,
Could you please help me with a profile evaluation? I have done a fair bit of research, but would love to get some feedback from you.
My information is as follows:
GMAT 770 (Q50, V47, IR 5, AWA 5),
Undergrad GPA 3.35 (in Accounting) from Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan
Graduate GPA 3.72 (MS Finance), from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago
27 year old male, US Permanent Resident/Green card holder
Current CPA candidate (aim to have 3 out of 4 parts done by time of app)
I’m an accountant with 3+ years of work experience in Chicago’s healthcare sector in a locally reputed healthcare organization (not known outside Chicago). I have some community service internships/experience, notably co-founding a community service venture during college that continues to operate today. I have fairly decent writing skills, and my recommendations will be solid (but nothing spectacular).
My long-term goal is to work either in social impact investing or reach upper management in the nonprofit sector (preferably healthcare or education). Post MBA, I want to spend some time working in a finance rotation program (either in industry, or thru a financial institution) to get some finance experience on my resume (and pay off debt), and eventually transition to the nonprofit sector. Ideally, I hope to find a job in the Virginia/DC area (for family reasons), but that’s not mandatory.
I’m thinking of applying to HBS, Booth, Darden, and one more school that I haven’t decided. I’m not sure if I have sufficient qualifications for these top schools or whether I’m being unrealistic. Would you advise me to apply to another top school (such as Kellogg) for the 4th application, or should I choose a lower-ranked school as insurance such as Georgetown (which is fairly decent, but not top-class)?
Your input would be most highly appreciated.
Thank you!
