Hi Paul,

Owner of Polymer India- We deal with various types of industrial packaging products(like Pail Containers, Hdpe bottles, Pet bottles, Hdpe Drums) & Recycling plastic raw material(HDPE, LDPE, PP). Our suppliers are companies who deal with pesticides and chemicals, so quality has been one of our trademark from the very first day.
P.S- This is not a family business. It's an enterprise started solely by me after my graduation.
Key Responsibilities-
Maintaining relationships with suppliers as well as distributors.
Held numerous training seminars to teach as well as learn from the staff of manufacturing unit as well as office staff- These seminars not only increased the knowledge of everyone but increased productivity and led to better team work and understanding in everyone.
Ensuring product specifications and quality remain up to date.
Devising new promotional activities and schemes for marketing the products.
Ensuring all the billing and paperwork is done in a systematic way.
Achievements-
Increasing the product portfolio from five products in 2012 to more than fifty products today.
Improved designs and high quality increased the turnover by more than 200% in three years(In the first year, i designed a mold of pail container which not only reduced the weight of the container by more than a 100grams but also maintained the same strength- a design which is followed by all our competitors today)
Reducing the manufacturing costs by more than 50% in the span of two years.
The growth of the team from five members in 2012 to more than thirty members today.

Active member of Kreyan- an NGO which aims at working towards underprivileged and blind children since the last 2 years. Primary responsibility includes teaching the kids, development of their character.
Extra-curricular activities since graduation have been minimal since i've been totally consumed with my work.
Why Mba and why now- The plan was to go for MBA just after the graduation, probably from ISB or IIM, but some personal problems forced my hand to drop the idea and start an enterprise. The reason for wanting to do Mba is simple- Want to polish my skills, get great exposure, hopefully develop some good relations. I plan on getting a job afterwards in some IT industry, doing the job for couple of years, then come back and start another enterprise. The only difference will be to start this new enterprise with something related to IT- maybe a solutions firm or a consulting company. I know, seeing my background academics as well as present scenario, IT is nowhere o be found but i guess just like all other Indians, i've a knack for it. It's more of a passion.
My target Schools in order of preference-
1) Wharton
2) Chicago Booth
3) Kellogg
4) Columbia
5) Hass
6) Tuck
7) Duke
8) NYU Stern
I still have got to do a lot of research on the right school for me that suits my aims.
I know my Gmat is on the lower side. How much more do you think i should aim for?
Also, what are my chances for scholarship? Can improving my score help me in that?
I probably won't opt for any school outside top 10 as it doesn't make much sense to me to drop everything i've worked for in the last four years only to get in a school not of my choice. I think my profile is not so similar to all the other Indian guys i've encountered here. MBA is a dream that has been pending for the last four years but i only wanna do it on my terms.
Please give me your feedback for my next step.
Thank You
Ashutosh Aggarwal
