Hi,
I'm 24, Female, Indian and I would really appreciate some advice on which schools to apply to and where I stand with my current profile.
Education: B.E in Industrial Engineering and Management from a top Indian engineering school. GPA 9.0/10
GMAT: 710; Q49, V38, IR 6.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1) I joined one of the best electrical parts manufacturer, an MNC, fresh out of college (Jul 2013) - started off as a Product Development Technician. I worked in the Automotive division and my clients included major auto OEMs: Ford, GM, JLR, Aston Martin etc. I quickly picked up design concepts and demonstrated my ability to apply them practically and even designed a completely new product for GM in my first year of joining. My job involved interacting with team members and clients from all over the world. So I gained a lot of global exposure. Also, I was given the responsibility of handling a major project within the first few months of my joining as two of my team members were indisposed. I managed to complete the project on time and received an appreciation award from our German VP for my efforts.
My efforts did not go unnoticed and I was promoted to Product Engineer in my second year of work. I was given the responsibility of Ford and JLR projects and product life cycles. I did well and senior management decided to give me the responsibility of handling a new team that exclusively supports France.
However, at this point (after two years), I had come to realise that this field was not for me. If I took up this new post, I had to sign a contract to stay with the company for a couple more years and I was very sure that I would not be happy about it.. So I quit in Aug 2015.
2) I also have 8 years experience in the Entertainment Industry as a voice over artist and singer (2007 - Present). I have voiced many national ad campaigns (TV, Radio and Internet) and have performed on stage and won a lot of competitions. I even won my first car with my voice

I have also sung for movies and voiced characters in video games.
3) Since quitting in Aug 2015, I have been teaching music at a local music school. I am also doing my internship at a local production studio to enhance my knowledge on daily operations and learn new skills. I am also currently helping my friend with his start up company (operations management and vendor selection).
ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:1) Head of the music association in my college - have organized and participated in many national and state level competitions and conferences.
2) I received the best outgoing student award in my graduating year for balancing my extra curriculars and academics well.
3) I was involved in a project with my city's Traffic Management Center. My team helped optimize the signal timings at a major traffic junction in our city by applying operations research techniques - we wanted to demonstrate how applying industrial engineering techniques could help solve problems for the public. Our project was approved and I am proud to say that the signal timings were changed and flow of traffic has been smoother at that junction

(We were even featured in a National Daily).
4) I am an active member of the local Rotaract Club. We have raised a lot of funds for social endeavours and I have been involved in many voluntary service activities.
4) I was made the core team leader for the employee engagement program in my previous company. I was also made the 'Inclusion and Diversity champion' for my office because I was doing quite well in such a male dominated environment.
WHY AN MBA and GOALS AFTER GRADUATING:After a lot of introspection,I decided that I needed to switch to a field where I can be creative and use my background in Industrial Engineering constructively.
So after a lot of research, my goal is to get into the Video Game Industry or a similar entertainment industry but in the management field (Project Management mostly). Studios generally favour applicants with MBAs. Moreover, the MBA experience will help me grow as an individual, help me network with creative and like minded people and definitely help me fine tune my management skills. Equipped with an MBA and my experience in the entertainment industry, I will be more likely to achieve my goals.
So there you have it.. my situation is pretty unique and I would really like your thoughts on the same.
I want to apply to European and Canadian universities because some of the best studios are there. There are plenty in the US as well, but the tuition fees are so high
My dream schools are: MIT Sloan and INSEAD. (Lots of studios in France)
My other choices are: SDA Bocconi, Erasmus Rotterdam (MIM), HEC Paris (MIM) and Sauders.
Do you think I can get into MIT or Insead? Any other schools I should consider?
Thanks for your help.
