While your GMAT score is competitive, consider retaking the GMAT if you believe you can improve your score, particularly in the Verbal and Data Insights sections. A higher score can further strengthen your application.

himagra,

Some thoughts on your profile evaluation and some tough love too!

  • The academic arc is good given the DTU pedigree and a healthy GPA. The GMAT score about adequate but not stellar. A 675+ score can further boost your prospects.
  • The professional profile is bit of mixed bag. While the sales exposure helps, the multiple, short-lived frequent job changes do not bode well. Your years of experience will also be on the lowest edge for PGPX. Not considering ISB or international programs? What are your post-MBA career goals?
  • Schools also value extracurricular/volunteer efforts. Anything on this front?

Hope this sparks the right questions. Feel free to reach out on mcb@mbacrystalball.com for a more detailed discussion.

Cheers,

Hi himagra,

Thank you for sharing your profile. Overall, your credentials look strong, and I don’t see any major concerns—except perhaps the duration of your work experience, especially in the context of the IIM Ahmedabad Executive MBA (PGPX) program.

While your profile shows around 4 years of experience as of 2025 (4.7 years at the time of joining), this is slightly below the average experience of current and past PGPX cohorts, which tends to lean closer to 6–7 years. That said, this can certainly be balanced with an exceptional interview performance and a well-articulated application.

Wishing you the very best with your application! If you ever feel the need for professional support in crafting a compelling narrative, we do offer personalized assistance to candidates targeting top B-schools.

Just a quick reminder—if you’re shortlisted based on your profile and GMAT score, you’ll be required to submit three essays within just two days of the deadline, so having a draft or structure in place can help you respond effectively under time pressure.

Let me know if I can support you further.

Best regards,
Bhoopendra Singh

Hello himagra,

Good to see the international exposure. However, the frequent job changes will be a problem and you should see if you meet the eligibility criteria of 5 years.

The GMAT score looks alright but to increase your chances you could look at retaking the GMAT.

All the best!

The onus for making the reviewer understand your career growth progression is on you. Across all your roles as an engineer, it is not clear how these have involved incremental responsibilities or reflect an upward growth trajectory. Once you get a hang of how to tell your story and pitch your experience, you will have won the battle in a competitive applications process.
What do you want to do after the MBA and what research have you done in that direction? That’s another aspect missing from your profile description, but one that will make or break your case. Your interview will largely be driven by your goals and strategy. I have written extensively about IIM A interviews, so feel free to have a read here:
Mastering the IIM A PGPX Interview: A Comprehensive Debrief : IIM Ahmedabad

If you are struggling to understand the nuances of applications and how to pitch yourself as a high-potential candidate for IIM A, feel free to have a one-to-one discussion.
