I would like to get feedback about my profile.
Bachelor's degree: Computer Engineering, University of Pune(GPA 3.1)
PG Degree: MBA, University of Mumbai(GPA 5.6/7)
GMAT:620(Q:49, V:27)
Work Experience:
- Total of 30 months
Managerial Experience:
- Assistant Retail manager, Landmark Group, Dubai
-Retail Management Trainee, Landmark Group, Dubai
- Digital Sales Executive, Encyclopedia Britannica(K-12 learning modules)
Extra-curricular Activities:
- I have been dramatics person since my school days. Have participated and won at district and state level competitions during my academical tenure.
- Founding member of one of the theatrical groups back in India
- Organized and managed various professional activities for the group(To promote the interests of the group)
I would like to know what are my chances to get into good programs in Canada and US. What do you suggest to improve my overall profile?
Dear Anuj,
You had everything going well for you till you hit the GMAT hurdle
Experience of working with one of the largest retailers in Dubai, solid extra curriculars, all of these are real good haves. But if we closely examine your academics, there isn't much to highlight and therefore for you,GMAT is critical component to ace. Think about it from an admission officer's perspective, he sees all the good things in your CV and then he has this doubt whether you will be able to manage the academic rigour of a top school because your grades including your GMAT score are a bit below par.
If you are targetting a good school, given your profile, I will definitely state that you should think about retaking your GMAT.
