Absolutely not, but you do need to make a case for why you are pursuing a STEM-designated MBA. In fact, not having a STEM undergrad degree might make that case more convincing. This would also be discussed in your essays and interview.

Hi MoBss,

There are no particular eligibility criteria for STEM MBA (that you must have an undergraduate degree in STEM). However, MBA applicants with a science and technology background choose STEM MBA over standard MBA. As a result, the STEM MBA is best suited for individuals with an academic background in science and technology, making STEM a viable choice to consider. If you want to apply for a STEM MBA, you can, but make sure you are comfortable with the technical and science-based curriculum and present a convincing case for the same before the AdComs. You can read more about STEM MBA program here.

If you’d like, we are happy to hop on a call with you sometime this week to discuss your profile in length and further chances to the b-schools. Feel free to book a free session with us as per your convenience.

Cheers!
