I would like to hear your opinions on which school you find to be the better option. Post graduation I plan on working in a position that has to do with Strategic Planning. Assuming all things are equal, which school would you attend. Georgetown seems to be the historically better school, but Rice seems to have some positive momentum behind it. The latest "US NEWS" ranking table (2018) put Rice(24) just ahead of Georgetown(25). Every other ranking system puts Georgetown ahead of Rice. I would really like to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks.

I would agree with your analysis. The only consideration is around the international candidate job market, which I would encourage you to research with the current students and recent albums. If you are an international applicant. Many things in DC revolve around the government and hiring international candidates to do US government contract is not a very popular step at the moment. This job options for internationals a more limited in Georgetown.

Then 90% there. As long as you’re not a raging Republican from Texas, you’ll be quite happy in Georgetown ;-)

Jokes and political views aside, Unless you’re planning to return to Texas or the south or leverage Rice’s energy MBA concentration.

Both schools a fairly regional. Both undergrad programs are within top 25 nationally but I feel Georgetown has a stronger name to it. I would see Rice to be a strong school in Texas

I grew up in Houston and would like to end up back there. But I do not want that to influence my decision. I want to go to a school that is the better program and would open up more doors for me. I am also open to the idea of working internationally post graduation(Dubai, UAE), so there is that.

Hi,

Georgetown university could work better in Middle East because the parent university name not the MBA program. Georgetown reputations there stems its reputation from politics and Economy studies school.

Since you are a US citizen, McDonough makes so much sense.
Rice is regional. McDonough has the force, prestige and vintage-aura that comes with the Georgetown brand!

I strongly vote for Georgetown.
P.S -> If you were an International student, it would have been very difficult to pick Georgetown given the fact that much of the job recruitment in DC area revolves around federal agencies.

Georgetown, not even close for a US student. Ignore US News ranking blips, it helps to see the historical averages. Georgetown has always been a steady T25. Rice is regional and a small class size = bad for recruitment
